In actuality they weren't what you know now as seminars. Up until the 70's no one took lessons. Instructors were created from performers of the 60's such as myself who took the dance very seriously.
We have re-opened our doors so that our students can once again enjoy fun, fitness, and dance in an environment that is safe and uplifting. We invite the women of Columbus to join us! We are following all safety guidelines and recommendations for students and staff-including masks, plenty of handwashing, sanitizing stations, and even safe dance zones!

Love this place, been dancing here 2.5 years. Lovely ladies, lots of fun, good exercise while being low impact. Super body positive and accepting of all.

This is a wonderful place. It's a really fun way to get yourself moving, the instructors a really patient, and it's very body-positive. Performing is open to anyone who has learned the dances, and it's an excuse to wear sparkles!
I've gained core strength, balance, and am so happy to be there.

I was so excited to take a class here, but when the classes began they were not at all what I had expected. I was looking for something like a conventional dance class, but instead I felt like the instructors were simply there to advertise for additional classes, events, and products.
There were far too many students in the class for the instructors to be able to correct individuals - something I would think you'd want from a dance form which involves such acute isolations.
In the entire time I went to these classes I never once broke a sweat, never felt challenged or sore.
The thing that

I'm afraid I don't take classes here (well, not yet anyways), but I have been to a couple of the "haflas" here, and I plan to keep coming! It's about this I'm writing this review.

Every third Saturday of the month, Habeeba hosts a hafla (dance party). Doors typically open around 7:30, but the show doesn't start until at least 8:00, and often later. How late it runs depends on the number of dancers, but 10:30~11:00 is typical, and it could be later.

Admission is $10 at the door with all ages welcome. Indeed, there are often a bunch of little kids running

I think I'm in love.

Any activity that encourages me to wear shiny, sparkly things and make noise is pretty awesome. Besides that, I really enjoy the instruction I get at Habeeba's. I'm a new student (5 weeks in, woo hoo), but it's great. I feel comfortable and am enjoying my fellow students. There is such a great, supportive atmosphere here. The other women are amazing and talented, and someday maybe I'll get there too.
