Hand in Hand Rehabilitation has provided specialized care of the hand and upper extremity since 2004. At Hand In Hand Rehabilitation, we have a highly experienced team of New York hand therapists who offer specialized treatment services for any pain, injury, or discomfort you may be feeling of the hand and upper extremity.
Following her studies at Vassar College, Deborah Brienza graduated Magna Cum Laude from Tufts University with a degree in Occupational Therapy in 1988. She went on to earn a Certificate in Health Care Management from New York University in 1991.
After working at both St. Luke's Roosevelt Mount Sinai West and NYU Langone Hospital for Joint Diseases, Deborah became a Certified Hand Therapist in 1994 and has trained with some of the most highly regarded Certified Hand Therapists, Orthopedic and Plastic Surgeons in the country.

Osteoarthritis is caused by overuse, an injury to a joint or "wear and tear" on a joint. This may be present in all joints of the hand or only a few. Other factors that may contribute to osteoarthritis in the hand are age, gender and family history. Stiffness, pain and weakness are some of the symptoms of osteoarthritis in the hand.
You use your elbows, wrists, and hands constantly throughout the day - but nothing will make you realize just how much you use them like feeling the aches and pains within them. Just imagine your typical morning: you get out of bed, brush your teeth, shower, get dressed, make breakfast, and begin your commute to work.

Friendly knowledgeable doctors and staff. Fixed my trigger thumb problem that 4 injections weren’t able to. I didn’t have to undergo surgery as other doctors said I needed to fix this problem.

I worked with Joanne at Hand In Hand. I had surgery for my wrist and elbow and needed therapy for both.
I made enormous progress regaining motion and strength thanks to the excellent guidance by Joanne. She is extremely knowledgeable and helpful and works in a very methodical manner. Working with a therapist who specializes in hands and arms was definitely an advantage.

I give Hand In Hand my highest recommendation. The team is highly professional, friendly, supportive and encouraging. Sessions start on time. The office is clean, organized and constantly sanitized. I greatly looked forward to each of my sessions. I made great progress with the healing of my hand over 2 1/2 months of treatment I received. My at home exercises were well explained to me with clear instructions and printed materials to take home. I am so grateful to the Hand In Hand team for helping me to regain full use of my hand. Hand In Hand is the place to go for hand rehabilitation.

I was referred to this location after an unfortunate accident that left my right hand broken while vacationing in NYC. Everyone was very nice including Leslie, my Therapist, who made the splint for my right hand in a short amount of time and gave me all the info I needed for care and speedy healing for my trip back to CA. They even called my Ins. right then and figured out what my coverage was to ensure proper billing. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who may need rehabilitation following an injury, their office was completely set up to help anyone regain their full motion and mobility
