We have provided comprehensive vision care to tens of thousands of satisfied patients in our history. Drs. Robert Stahl and Amy Jo Calder have a combined 35 years of experience. We provide vision care services in a professional, conscientious, and responsible manner. Our office was opened in the fall of 1957 by Dr. Julian "Jay" Stahl, who passed on a family tradition to his son, Robert, in 1990.
We also refer to professionals such as Dr. Ronald Gallemore at Retina-Macula Institute, Dr. John Maher, and Drs. Franklin Lusby and Amarpreet Brar at Nvision. Dr. Gallemore, founder of the Retina Macula Institute, is the premier facility in the South Bay for those with retinal problems. The State-of-the-Art Institute can manage the entire spectrum of retinal diseases, often using new, innovative, and highly effective treatments.
Our staff of optometric professionals has the ability to make your visit the most pleasant, efficient, and best visit you have ever had at a medical office. We are knowledgeable about all things regarding your eyes, the ocular system, and products relating to eye care such as eyeglasses, sunglasses, contact lenses, and prescription lenses.
We have relationships with many of the top vendors of eyeglasses, such as Ray Ban, Coach, BeBe, Joseph Abboud, Liberty Sport, Nike, Candies, Guess, William Morris, Skechers, Puma, Rampage, Randy Jackson, XXL, and many more. We also carry contact lenses by Coopervision, Vistakon, and Alcon, such as Biofinity, Acuvue, Air Optix, color contacts, and many more.
There are two types of insurance we accept in our office, vision insurance and medical insurance.

Dr Calder is awesome. At this office they really "KNOW EYES". Every question I had and every issues with my eyes Dr Calder gave me insight or reason why. She made me feel confident with my eye decision. I was also giving the high end option and affordable option so that I was able to purchase my eyewear right away. My insurance only covered so much. Dr. Calder also gave a me a coupon as well to put toward my purchase.
The service provided was more like a friendship then that of patient-Doctor. I am so thankful and happy that I chose Dr. Stahl & Dr. Calder for my eye care. Good

The kids and I love going here. We found this office about 6 years ago. The doctors are always super nice and very informative. We have seen Dr. Calder, Dr Stahl and on our last visit it was a different young lady. I didn't catch her name since I had my nephew with me and he has tons of energy but she was truly amazing. Answered all my questions and even let me see the pictures of my kids eyes. The office was pretty busy but she never rushed us out. I am very happy I found them.

Everyone I met that day were very nice. I like that they are taking precautions. The only thing, I did notice a few patients in the waiting area. It's not a big area, so patients were not social distancing. My appointment was early, so I didn't have to bump into other people. But other than that, I was happy with my experience.

The place has protocol in place for COVID, and the staff are all wearing masks and very aware. Staff was really friendly, too. I saw Dr. Calder and she was great right away, friendly and welcoming and you can tell she cares about what she does. I recommend this place to anyone considering it or needing eye care. They also accept Medical (just FYI).

I brought my daughter to this office for medical visit after reading the reviews here on Yelp. Dr. Stahl was very pleasant and really educated us on the issue at hand. It's also not one of those offices that has lots of patients waiting for hours. So grateful to have found this place. We will definitely go back for our eye exams. Overall great experience.

I wanted to give this office a five star but I could not. The 1st thing was that the door was locked. You could see the receptionist. They looked up and kept speaking on the phone. After about 4 min. One of the ladies got up and came to the door with some hand sanitizer and a thermometer. Once taken she asked if I'd been to that office before. I said yes. She asked me to have a seat. I was called in by the doctor. Very nice doctor. Cordial, professional etc. once finished I was lead into the area to select frames. I picked a few. Waited to see if anyone would help me. Five ten minutes passed

I've been a patient here for over 30 years and sadly this is the longest relationship and most successful relationship I've ever had, lol. The staff is very kind and all of them remember you personally as well as your entire family and that is an experience you'll never get at those big stores. My boyfriend and I stopped by on Saturday because he really needed an eye exam and new glasses. Luckily we were able to get seen the same day. Dr. Calder and her staff got us in and out and the overall experience was fantastic. They do have a good selection of frames which made my boyfriend really happy. We will definitely be back.

Our first visit last week was with my teen daughter with Dr. Calder...she was awesome. My daughter is in a wheelchair, although the office is small the staff moved a table to make sure she could access the eye glass selections.
Our second visit was with Dr Stahl for my twin boys. Dr. Stahl is just as awesome as Dr. Calder!!! He was so kind and patient to answer all of their questions and explained everything he was doing.

I normally get my regular prescription glasses here but decided to pop in to get a pair of prescription sunnies. I didn't have an appointment, the office was busy as usual. Lupe, was very helpful and the service was helpful and professional. (did I mention I did not have an appointment) I was in and out of the office within 30ish minutes. I found the PERFECT pair of prescription sunnies for a better than expected price and I can't wait to pick them up!

I got my first pair glasses and I was in third grade so that should tell you something.
They are always friendly; they let me know if things are running late Dr Stahl is really personable and is the natural, maybe that had something to do with his dad being an optometrist but he can't help that!

I love it here! They are super efficient. And glasses always ready before they say they will. I also was convinced to get contacts after 19 years of NOT wearing them and as of November 2016 switched over! My previous optometrist never sold them as well as doctor Calder! I explained I was a full time college student and had an toddler so I would need them to be long lasting, durable etc, etc... and she helped me pick out just the ones. She's the best!
