I am Dr. Sharon Theroux and my husband is Dr. Christopher Fichera. We are Florida licensed psychologists and co-founders of South Florida Psychology, the South Florida Center for Mindfulness, and International Seminars Group. We opened South Florida Psychology in 1987, providing individual and group psychotherapy, clinical and forensic psychological/neuropsychological evaluations, and infertility evaluations for our South Florida community.
In 2012, we opened the South Florida Center for Mindfulness, providing mindfulness-based practices such as Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC), and Eat for Life.

Services
Dr. Fichera is a licensed psychologist who has been in practice for over 20 years in the South Florida area. After earning his Ph. D. in clinical psychology and following completion of a fellowship in psychological assessment and psychotherapy at the Yale University School of Medicine, Dr. Fichera opened his practice in Boca Raton where he divides his professional time between his clinical practice and his work in the area of forensic psychology.
Dr. Theroux is a licensed psychologist, working in private practice since 1995. As a therapist, she specializes in the treatment of individuals with depression, anxiety, chronic pain, eating disorders and addictive behaviors. She helps individuals identify and express difficult emotions, utilizing mindfulness and Nonviolent Communication.
Kristen Prater serves as office administrator for South Florida Psychology and The South Florida Center for Mindfulness. She has worked in the medical field for 15 years and has a passion for helping people. She enjoys her role in our office and is always willing to learn of new opportunities to broaden our practice.
At South Florida Psychology, we are pleased to offer a telehealth services for our clients, healthcare providers and in the workplace. Our enhanced telemedecine platform is completely HIPAA compliant and encrypted for your security. Our practitioners specialize in a variety of symptoms using the latest in therapeutic techniques.
D. is a Florida licensed psychologist (#PY4473) providing pre-surgical screenings for egg donors, gestational carriers and commissioning parents. He is also the Co-Director of South Florida Psychology. He received his Ph. D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Miami (1989) and completed a Fellowship in Clinical Psychology at the Yale University School of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry (1987).
