Established in 1981, American Thermal began as a part-time operation by Iver Johnson Sr., who is a retired police officer of 31 years at the Chicago Police Department. Located at the intersection of Milwaukee and Central Ave in the heart of the northwest side, American Thermal has served the entire Chicagoland area since its beginnings.

American Thermal Window can install casement or double hung style bay, bow, and garden windows to any home. As with their other windows, bay windows, bow windows and garden windows from American Thermal Window come with numerous options and can be completely customized for your project.
American Thermal Window carries a large selection of replacement casing windows and replacement awning windows. Casement and awning windows make a great alternative to single-hung and double-hung windows, especially when a sleek modern look is desired that still maximizes ventilation. With Casement Windows, the window is attached to the frame by one or more hinges and swings open with the use of a crank or lever placed at hand-height.
Double hung windows are an extremely popular window choice among American Thermal Window's client base. On double hung windows, both sashes on the frame move independently, allowing both the bottom and top portion of the window to be opened for ventilation. Also, both sashes of the window tilt inwards to make cleaning the window exteriors easier.
Egress windows are partially underground windows, which are large enough to use as an exit in case of an emergency. These are typically found in finished basements and are often required by building ordinances. We were very pleased with the service. The installation went quickly and smoothly, the workers were very competent and thorough and they respected our wishes. Ordered a screen door and exterior entry door March 31st. We were told 8-10 weeks before installation. Twice the person who did the scheduling " was on vacation". It's 15 weeks later and no doors. We had new siding, soffit and gutters installed by one their competitors within a month. No communication and a bunch of BS from American Thermal. DO NOT GO WITH THIS COMPANY. Next step is to file with Business Affairs and Consumer Protection with the city

I recently had my Florida Room Windows replaced with American Thermal Windows. I was desperate after the first company that we hired to do this project dropped us like a hot potato after seeing the scope of the project.

We purchased a security storm door for our front door through American Thermal Window. We had Vitaly & Dema install the door, and they were very professional and quick. In the past 15 yrs, my father spent over $50,000 with this company. About 3 yrs ago, we had new windows, new front door & patio doors installed. That same yr come winter time I had cold air that leaked through my windows & frost build up. I called then the following spring & all they did was come out & recaulked half the windows, I still had… frost build up & air leaks the following winters after that. Also the hardware on my front is rusted, the rubber trim on the bottom of my front door is torn& when I had someone come out to look at my door last month they said
