Funded by the Illinois Department on Aging, Sahara Home Care a.k.a. Sahara Asian Elderly Care is an in-home care service provider for elderly and disabled persons. Initially, our organization was formed to provide valuable services to the growing South Asian and Middle Eastern elderly population of Chicago land.
However, our clientele has expanded into seniors of various ethnic and cultural backgrounds. Our research shows many of these individuals that desperately seek assistance with personal care and everyday errands often go overlooked and are left unserved. Being so accustomed to their cultural settings, they also want to remain in a familiar surrounding at home.

Services
Besides regular home care services, we also provide Respite Care. The purpose of this service is to provide temporary care and some relief to the client's usual caregiver. Our outreach team attends community events throughout the year to better inform seniors and their family members about our services.
We collaborate with several local Managed Care Organizations including Illinois Department on Aging, Illinois Department of Human Services, Humana, Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Illinicare and County Care for our Community Care Program. Seniors who qualify can receive free home care services. After potential clients submit an application, Care Coordination Units from their respective counties schedule an appointment to evaluate eligibility.
Our outreach team attends community events throughout the year to better inform seniors and their family members about our services. After meeting and screening potential interested clients, members of our Outreach team make individual visits to homes to further explain how to apply for homecare services through various Managed Care Organizations both at the county and state level.
We offer multiple opportunities including Homecare Aide positions as well as staff positions in our ten office locations. Benefits for Homecare Aides include health insurance and flexible schedules including part-time or full-time. Benefits for full-time staff positions include health insurance and paid time off.
