Still love this place. Melissa did a fantastic job fixing my hair! I had stopped coming here (honestly not sure why) and had my hair absolutely butchered by another local salon. It was long, straight lifeless and completely dull. Melissa brought it back! Without sacrificing too much length she added in body and bounce. And she was so friendly! When I went to sit in the chair I noticed she had written "Welcome Kelly!" On the mirror! I won't go anywhere else now.

I get my curly hair cut here. Kat does an amazing job I would definitely recommend it here

I went to Fringe for the first time in dire need of a haircut. I was impressed with the comfy and pleasant atmosphere, and overlooking the water was a plus.
Natasha did a phenomenal job on my hair. She took the time to focus on what I wanted and I am very pleased with my cut. It was well worth it. I will definitely being going back. Thank you Fringe!!

He colored my hair and did a blow dry like no one else ever !
I have my hair done every week a I am very particular about everything .
So when I walked in the space had such great Mojo !
A nice man greeted me and said he was booked up I think his name was John he was the owner so he had Scott take over .
Between the both men I felt and looked like a Queen !
I now go every week !!!!

I have long naturally curly hair, it was a mess walking into fringe and I left loving it! This is something I never thought I’d be saying. John and Scott were amazing, super nice and took their time to transform my messy locks into well defined curls. The DevaCurl cut is perfect!
The salon has the “best view in the house”, overlooking the harbor. It is clean and very open.

Jon the owner is the real deal and has a fabulous salon. I left my salon on Newbury st and like him even more! Everyday I get a compliment on my hair! It's great to find a place where people actually care and do such amazing work. And the ocean view !! Just awesome

I have been coming for a couple years to have my hair cut and have been mostly happy with the work of Adriana. However, lately with the last few cuts, I’ve noticed her work hasn’t been good... there are uneven lengths, holes in the layers, and I have been talked out of the type of haircut I want several times. For example, when I want higher layers in the back and shorter fringe in the front, I am given long layers and told it looks better this way. I think paying $75 for cut that is lacking in technique and not even what I’ve asked for is wrong. The solution I’ve been given is to continue

Lauren was great. Got my first curly cut. She walked me through each step and was very open to my wants and needs, not to mention the fabulous scalp massage. Very pleased with my haircut.

Just moved to town and glad i found this place. Great prices for the quality of service! Place was clean and decorated in a really cool and unique style. Had a cut with Scott today who was friendly, attentive to detail, and made the whole experience very relaxing. They are very good with covid safety measures. Take your temperature when you walk in, provide hand sanitizer, everyone is wearing a mask, plenty/more than 6 feet between stations, and they even had these really cool plexiglass shields that the stylists are able to work around as an extra later of protection. 5-stars, would definitely

I literally travel from Long Beach, CA to Salem, MA when I'm in need of a hair cut. Curly girls, John is your guy!! I've tried others, but his skills are hard to beat.

Owner asked my mother multiple times if she would "gift" him her condo. This was when she was dying at 87 years old and he was coming over to do her hair for a few months. Beware of home visits to elderly parents.

Krista is AMAZING! This was my first visit to Fringe and I had a wonderful experience. Maria at the desk was so welcoming and I am in love with my color/cut. Krista gave me more layers and added a gorgeous pop of color on my previously biolaged ends. I was treated to a relaxing hand massage by Natasha using Aveda oil and handcreme, while my hair was being blown out. Treated like gold! Looking forward to my next appointment. Great vibe and view of the Salem waterfront....perfect!

Fringe has been a Salem staple for years and rightfully so! Everyone I've met at the salon is awesome, friendly and highly skilled. I've seen Kathleen several times now and she is a magician. My hair is fine and hard to style and she gave me the best cut and unique style that is super easy to maintain. The space is beautiful, fun, unique and elegant as are the stylists and staff at Fringe.

Fringe is the best! Kathleen has been cutting and coloring my hair for years now, and she does a fantastic job getting the color to pop. She takes her time cutting and styling my hair, while chatting about interesting stuff.

The location is on the water, and you can look out at Salem harbor while getting your hair done. Very relaxing! The owner, John, has great taste in antiques which decorate the place. Highly recommend.

Let me start with the venu itself it's beautiful and well put together. I felt like royalty as soon as I walked in, the owner was so nice knowing it was my first time and questions to cater on what my hair needed. LOVED MY EXPERIENCE

Fringe, which has been known for its fabulous hair for years, has recently opened in a new much larger and more opulent, location. In addition to hair cuts and colors, they now offer an array of aesthetician services including microdermabrasion. Their estirician is sweet and the micro-derm, though not medical grade, will leave you with a glowing complexion. Fringe Salon: come for the hair, stay for the decor (and views) and be pleasantly surprised by the added services.

I was pretty disappointed with my experience here. I hoped to love it. My usual salon had lost a stylist and I had a tough time getting an appointment. So I looked for another place in the area that did deva cuts. I booked an appointment with John, but got a junior stylist that just started a few weeks ago. I asked if she did curly hair and she said "sure, I love that method - I've been watching videos." She had obviously never been formally trained and it shows in my hair. I've had many deva cuts and I could tell that she didn't know what she was doing - no cutting of

I had my first visit to fringe for a dry cut with John and curl coaching. Someone recommended John to me as someone skilled with curly hair. My hair is very long and has a mind of its own. I neglect it on most days and just rock a messy bun. First off, the staff is super nice and I love the decor of the salon. John did a great job cutting my hair and Scott showed me how to use the Deva products. I was provided with lots of tips and patience. So far, 3 days later, the hair is still looking good with a refresh. I am looking forward to this process and visiting fringe again. Also plenty of parking

4. I called on Thursday and got a Saturday morning appointment that is pretty damn unheard of

John and crew at the salon made me feel great and were very professional. Some problems with prices quoted and actual pricing, but, those are being worked out . I did have multiple processing color , so maybe that's the reason for the pricing confusion.
Also, my Ist haircut was performed by a new hire who screwed it up. To his benefit... John gave me a redo on the haircut himself and didn't charge me,fantastic!

I have wavy hair and I was looking for someone who uses the Deva Curl Method. Their website clearly states they use the dry cut method. I know that method works on my hair. But, the stylist I was given did not use the dry cut method. The photos on the website look great. My hair didn't look great after the stylist was done with it.

I told her about certain areas of my hair that should not be cut too short - due to cowlicks and extra curly areas. But she cut them too short. She commented a few times that she was trying to get rid of the frizz. But, she got rid of my curls and left

I've been a client at Fringe for about a year now. I am very particular about my hair. I came in one evening after a very disappointing foil at another salon, and the owner and Lauren were able to help me immediately. Just from that experience alone, I knew this is where I'd finally be happy! They both were actively listening to my concerns, they gave me great feedback and wonderful conversation as to how they could help me become happy with my hair color again. They couldn't have been more gracious and professional.
