A name taken from a prestigious British automobile has evolved into a prominent family-owned restaurant that has withstood the test of time at the Lake of the Ozarks. Clarence and Margaret Ziegler founded Bentley's Restaurant & Pub in St. Louis more than four decades ago, and then opened the Lake area restaurant at 3100 Bagnell Dam Blvd, Lake Ozark, MO 65049 in 1974.

Current owner Bill Ziegler said his parents were in search of a name for their original restaurant on Manchester Street in Des Peres near St. Louis. They happened to see a Bentley car and were attracted to the name. Ultimately, the quality of the British automobile has been reflected in the dedication to quality and consistency at the restaurant.
Services
They are silent partners. Two live in the Lake Area, one in Florida and the others in the St. Louis area. Ziegler and his staff employ those standards in their approach to providing quality food, a full bar and customer service. That attention to detail is evident in the simplicity and design of the menu and wine list, the array of brass etchings on the walls and the demeanor of the wait staff, neatly attired in tuxedo shirts and black bow ties.
Bill learned the business from the kitchen up, starting as a dishwasher. During his summers he worked at the Lake Ozark restaurant. During school, he helped out at the restaurants in St. Louis. He stuck with the profession, becoming majority stockholder ten years ago. He's also the restaurant's maitre d'.

I visited this restaurant with my mother over a decade ago. That's right. Ten years later and I still think about it. She and I still talk about the phenomenal service and food we received. We haven't been back because we are not local but we just made plans to return VERY soon.

My wife and I went to Bentley's for our Anniversary. We were very impressed with everything from the service, atmosphere, and food. The oysters, French onion soup, prime rib, ribeye, carrot cake and coconut cream pie we're all amazing. Definitely will be back.

We've been going to Bentleys since 1993. We always get the prime rib whenever we are in town. It is the best!! The view is wonderful, service is amazing!! Highly recommend.

We went here for our 10th wedding anniversary. The service was good, we really enjoyed the dim lighting. My husband had the French onion steak and new potatoes. His was really good, the steak was cooked perfect and the potatoes were flavorful. I ordered the crab legs, they were almost $90 and definitely were not worth that price at all. They were pre-slit which was nice, but the meat was very dry like they had been sitting for long time. I had a baked potato on the side, nothing special. We had the apple crisp for dessert and it was very good. I would go back again, would just order something different

Why go anywhere else? This is the best prime rib at the lake hands down! In addition, the amount of food you get for your money far surpasses the other high end restaurants in town. The exceptionally trained wait staff makes the entire dining experience enjoyable because that is what it should be, an experience! Thank you Billy!!

Bentley's has been around for a long time here at the lake. The last time I visited was over ten years ago so I was curious to see how things have changed. Let's start with the good things. The service was outstanding. Many servers waited on our party of five and frequently refilled drinks and removed plates. They were very kind and professional. Second, the bathrooms were clean! Albeit dimly lit, but noticeably clean and that is a good sign for a restaraunt! Parking is plentiful but be advised it is a little hilly. They are handicap accessible via the front door. Now for the improvements and there

The restaurant was very nice and the food was good. I do wish my steak would have been a bit more warmer. I'm not sure if it was cooked too soon since we had soup first then a salad next or if the server was too busy to pick it up from the kitchen in a timely manner. I just know it was barely warm, boarding cold by the time I received my steak.

Old world upscale restaurant. Hard to find gems like this anymore. Would recommend for the area. Oysters are massive. Prime rib, scallops, and French onion soup also great.

We’ve been coming here for years.... my husband and I came here for the first time in 2010 right after having our first baby (almost 11 years ago) and fell in love with the food and service. We then came for our first anniversary, 6 months later and Sandy was our server. She was so sweet and accepting and accommodating that we came back every year sometimes several times in the year. We ended up asking for Sandy every single time we would come here. Flash forward to tonight (May 15, 2021) we brought our beat friends who had never been here before. Again, we requested Sandy and she delivered as

Atmosphere was cozy with beautiful view of the lake and lovely outdoor seating area. Food was good. The juiciest filet mignon cooked to perfection. However, with the addition of the king crab leg, although split open for easy access, the $52.00 price tag was a bit much. The prime rib was very good, cooked well, and good value for the portion size. Wait staff was knowledgeable, attentive, and food wait adaquate. An enjoyable evening I would repeat.
