The atmosphere is very warm and inviting. The wait was not bad. I would recommend reserving a table, though. The staff was amazing, knowledgeable, and friendly. Yes, it is a little pricey, but it is well worth it. The door was excellent, and although it was dark, when I was there, I can tell that the view is spectacular.

This restaurant tries to portray itself as fine dining, when it’s no more than chain restaurant quality. The menu is extremely limited. The portions are embarrassing. There was a hair in my chips and dip. Flavor is subpar at best. For the extremely high prices, there are far better options. First and last time.

Had one of the best if not THE best steaks I've ever had in my life. Order the ribeye; you won't be disappointed. The desserts, especially the gooey butter cake, are top notch. Prices are more than reasonable for what you get. The staff are very welcoming and accommodating. Wait staff were great! We will be back, repeatedly!

Our experience here was 5 star!! We chose Baxter's to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We arrived about a half hour before sunset, which was perfect as it was completely dark by the time we left. The views were gorgeous. The food was outstanding. We started with the spinach artichoke dip and Caesar salads. We both selected the fish special of the day: grilled halibut w/ a sun-dried tomato mushroom cream sauce over creamy risotto and asparagus. It was phenomenal!!! A spot at the bar turned into a pleasant surprise after we were turned away from this full dining room. Starting with amazingly fresh shrimp and moving onto steaks and fish, the food did not disappoint. Service at the bar was friendly and hustled to do double duty with food and drinks. Definitely go check out Baxter's when at the lake.

A guy filling our boat gas suggested this place and I want to go back to tip him for the lead!
We didnt have a reservation for a Saturday night, called and the gentleman that answered said come sit at the bar! We walked in at 630pm, one bar table open but needed to be cleaned. We waited just a couple mins, sat down and had great service by Jaqueline.
We ordered dirty martinis, a Cadillac spicy margarita, house salad, wedge salad, full rack of ribs and the ribeye. First of all the wedge is huge

We were visiting Osage Beach with family and decided that one night we would choose an upscale restaurant to dine without the "kids". Knowing we wanted steak and seafood,I began looking through reviews on the drive. I had decided between JB Hooks and Baxter's. As we were driving I saw several huge billboards for Hooks which just made me think "tourist trap". So our party of six adults went to Baxter's and we were thrilled that we did! The view and food did not disappoint!

Amazing view, excellent service and steaks that are the best I've had. You won't be disappointed having a meal here! We had the crab cakes appetizer which were loaded with crab and served with a delicious red pepper sauce. For the entree we had the fiilet mignon and scallops dinner. The filet was so tender and flavorful. The scallops were perfectly cooked and on a pool of a delicate lemony cream sauce. So good!

I’ve been here twice now and I will base this review between the two visits. Lunch was delicious best salmon I’ve had in a very long time! My order was correct, my water was always filled and we had enough waitresses chipping in that I forgot which one was the actual one. Pictures below are from this visit. Second visit during dinner time was slightly less pleasing. The waiter did just fine but it seemed like they had less help & were more busy. My husband and I ate on the patio for lunch. It was lovely. The view was spectacular and the food was very good, with generous-sized portions. I had Tim's Salad. The plate was heaped with mixed greens, apples, walnuts, gorgonzola cheese and grilled chicken, and was tossed with just the right amount of balsamic vinaigrette. My husband had the Turkey Club Sandwich, with shaved turkey, monterey jack cheese, peppered bacon, lettuce, sliced tomato and basil pesto mayonnaise on ciabatta bread. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals. I also loved the Jalapeño margarita!

This restaurant was more than just food. Yes, it is expensive. You are paying for the beautiful location overlooking the lake, the wonderful and attentive service, and did I mention the food? I have no idea how they do this but even the caeser salad tastes special. Everything was delicious! Don't forget to save room for the Caramel Gooey Butter cake too.

After a couple nights of turkey dinners we decided to have a fancy Sunday dinner. Should have stuck with the turkey dinner. Know why? You can't F up turkey dinners.
Everything started great. We ordered the Baxter Sunset and Lemontini. Both were really good.
Then the trouble began. My wife ordered scallops and I ordered the cedar plank salmon.
Me: I'll have the cedar plank salmon
Server: ok, the chef suggests medium. Is that ok?
Me: definitely not. I want it completely cooked
Server: ok, but it will be dry
Me: that's fine as long as it's cooked though

Our server Brian was absolutely amazing - he was so friendly and accommodating. Most people loved what they got, some thought it was just average. The dessert we all agreed was absolutely incredible. Highly recommend the turtle cheesecake and brownie. The highlights were the salmon and filet. Would go back.

My wife and I came here for our anniversary a few days ago. We don't eat out at more upscale places all that often, as we're living on a budget these days, and we're not from the area, so spending more than we're used to at a restaurant we're unfamiliar with gave me a little bit of anxiety before we showed up. COVID UPDATE:
Reading previous reviews about how this place is doing social distancing, masks, and staying clean I am a bit thrown off.
I went to Baxters 2 days ago and the place was packed packed, only one worker was wearing a mask, and the front entrance was crowded so we decided to wait outside. The servers don't wear masks well no one does. ( Except 1 worker)
If you are new and coming in then just know this so you don't get shocked. Like even elderly people weren't wearing masks. The restaurant it self just gives you a COVID free vibe.
