Services
Schmeer Sheet Metal Works was founded in 1945 by journeyman sheetmetal craftsman, John Schmeer. In 1992, John Schmeer sold the shop to his two employees Dick Riley and Dave Gutierrez. In 2002 Dick retired and Dave took ownership. Six years later, after 15 years of apprenticeship under the three previous owners, Kim and Cedric Meeks purchased the company and maintain the old-world pride of its founders today.
Schmeer Sheet Metal Works has provided custom copper and galvanized gutters and downspouts for decades. Countless homes and historic properties in the Northwest feature the distinct style and handcrafted quality of our gutters and downspouts. You won't find factory style, generic aluminum or plastic gutters here.
Schmeer Sheet Metal Works has supplied countless custom flashings to roofing contractors all over the Northwest. Many of the unique home designs require specialized flashing applications that simply are not available at the local big box store. Our capabilities allow us to provide virtually any size, shape and bend required, and can be built from copper, galvanized or stainless.
Every day there is a different triumph at Schmeer Sheet Metal Works. Today it may be a dramatic copper finial for a prominent building. Tomorrow, more custom copper gutters for Portland's famous Pittock Mansion. Next week, a fourth custom range hood, with a serious French flair, for an expanding chain of bakeries.

Cedric did an outstanding job with regard to replacing a portion of galvanized counter-top that I had inadvertently damaged. The attention to detail with respect to matching the spangle as well as the fit and finish of the piece is remarkable. Cedric took care of this relatively small but critical job in short-order and at a very reasonable cost when many shops would not return my call prior to contacting Schmeer. Well done!
