VIE Winery
Todd Seaver, head winemaker at Vie Winery, originally joined the operation as assistant winemaker in 2005. Todd's overall focus is on delivering a wine that is delicious to drink alone but also a great accompaniment to a meal. He works closely with mainly cool-climate sites, focusing on Rhone varietals as well as Zinfandel, maintaining a relationship with the same vineyards year after year.

His primarily aim is to create full wines with palate weight and good body, that have a sharp, bright acidity and sing with food. Todd's focus on the wine/food relationship began during his 6 year tenure as a bartender in Boston where he had the opportunity to gain familiarity with one of the most expansive wine cellars on the East Coast, sampling an abundance of world-class wines from France and California.

Never made it out to Treasure Island before in my 5+ years living in the Bay Area, but after finally checking out Alcatraz Island & enjoying some rare, sunny SF life - we decided to check out Treasure Island for more breathtaking views.

We cruised around & followed the breadcrumb trail of signs pointing to VIE. When in Rome, do as the Romans do! We pulled up right out front where a worker saw us come out of our car. She made eye contact with us, then immediately turned around & stormed off.

Confused, we decided to walk further past some tables of people clearly enjoying themselves

Wine is very mediocre. They charge $40/hour for Bocce, which is absolutely insane. I wouldn’t go back.

I had a terrible experience with VIE winery on my birthday. With multiple large groups that day, my group was checked in 30 minutes late to the tasting which was completely unorganized, no one checked us into bocce, and we were completely ignored throughout our reservation. The attendant also pulled me aside mid service and said she felt "spread really thin." She mentioned a few people in my reservation bought bottles and didn't tip and that she would appreciate it if I compensated her. At least we bought lots of wine. She didn't pour or open the bottles that they purchased

A stop over on our way to Sausalito. Not a whole lot to see. I'm use to more interactions looked around super quick and checked out the wine list. Small and quaint nestled on Treasure island.

If you've never wine tasted on Treasure Island before, you should totally give it a try. It's a wine tasting experience that's unlike any other, and far from the typical experience that you'd receive at a vineyard or tasting room.

For one thing, you'll have a glorious view of the Bay Bridge in the forefront and the San Francisco Bay practically beneath your feet. It's pretty mesmerizing I'll tell ya! Vie Winery is a excellent tasting room to stop at during your journey. The indoor space is setup like that of a warehouse with a rustic and cozy feel. It's

Hidden gem on Treasure Island. Unfortunately, we went on a cold foggy day, but I'll be back to enjoy the stringed lights and view of the Bay Bridge from outside. Rachel is super knowledgeable about all the wines and explains the process in a way a beginner wine novice like me could understand. Very happy to have found this spot.

A great cluster of wineries on Treasure Island with great views. Vie offers Rhone Varietal & Zinfandels. Bocce ball is always a great way to enjoy wine and the views. The folks there are great and on sunny days, it's a great place to come but come early and stake your spot! The wines are okay. I mean really okay. I would opt a bottle of zin. It is a hidden gem that seems to be getting around as the last weekend seemed busier than normal. I'll definitely be back.

$15 Tasting fee is overpriced for the quality of wine and ambiance. Tasting menu seemed to be 4 variations of the same wine; none of which were good.

The location and atmosphere of these 2 joined wineries is just fantastic. It's almost a hidden gem, but its slowly starting to be discovered. I came here last year on a holiday weekend and we were the only patrons, this year we were one of many - but still nothing compared to the typical SF crowds.
I recommend bringing a picnic lunch, hanging out to play bocce ball and spending a good half day. There are 2 other wineries right next door, so its a solid way to spend a weekend. The tastings are pretty intimate because the tasting rooms are so small, the music is fun, generally a great experience

This little shack is a perfect spot to grab a bottle of wine while soaking up the sun on Treasure Island. I grabbed a bottle for $40 to share with the group. It's definitely pricey, but great location and area to hang around for a large group. I like that this one along with a couple of the other wineries are situated between SF and East Bay, which is quite convenient.

Karen is wonderful, the wine is wonderful, and the space is wonderful. Word is catching on VIE and the other rooms are getting busier, because they really have built something special. This is a perfect way to get out of the city and enjoy some great wines and views. Treasure island is eerie and awesome, enjoy it while it lasts.

Spent a delightful day at the VIE wineries in February for a friend's birthday. Super friendly staff, fun and interesting spaces (there's a porthole in one!), yummy libations.

Bought a bottle of wine as well, which ended up having gone bad. Experienced excellent customer service after reporting it -- was mailed a replacement and given a full refund!

Thank you VIE and Karen.

Wine and bocce ball on Treasure Island? That's pretty cool
Have a voucher for a free taste tour and 2 hours play? That's cooler

There are 2 bocce courts rented by the hour. The venue itself looks nice with the wood walls, string lights, and floral decor. It's a bit hidden so it might be difficult to get to but when you see the bocce courts, you'll know.

The wine was good but didn't really fit my tastes. I had a lot of fun playing bocce ball on a beautiful San Francisco day. VIE is definitely worth checking out

I had the pleasure of visiting VIE on a Yelp Wine Tour a couple of months ago. We had started at Winery SF and were walked over to VIE while being told about how it was started and why on Treasure Island. It was awesome!

We were able to taste a wine or two at this venue and then moved on to the next. I would definitely come back for a full tasting!!!

Decent wine and friendly staff, but a $15 tasting fee for four wines is ridiculous. The pours were also very small.

Worst of all, the server didn't tell us the price until we were done, and its not printed on the menu! Sketchball.

What a wonderful spot!!!!

A great spot to go for a tasting with friendly staff and great views. Don't forget to make a reservation both for your tasting and for the bocce ball courts. Bring snacks.

I'm not very discerning when it comes to wine, but I liked it... So don't take this rating as a reflection of how great their wine is if you are serious about wine.

UNACCEPTABLE BUSINESS PRACTICES & TREATMENT OF CUSTOMERS: DO NOT GO HERE!

We had a pre-paid 30th birthday party for our friend planned this Sunday at Vie for several weeks. Today they contacted us to let us know that they had to cancel on us due to double booking. In other words, someone offered them more money for a private party and so they decided to cancel on us. Given the fact that this was scheduled to happen in less than two days, we are left with no other options because it's too last minute at this point to go elsewhere.

Thanks for ruining our friend's 30th birthday Vie

Yeah, drinking wine on the water and watching boats is pretty awesome. Great view of the city and the bridges.

I think the wine was good? With a location like that though, who cares.

Vie Winery is fantastic, it has the look and feel of an urban winery, but the displacement of being on Treasure Island so you are able to feel like it is a bit of an escape. WIth beautiful views of San Francisco and the rest of the bay area, it is an awesome place to spend a beautiful day, (much like I have for the past 2 weekends). The look and feel of the space is pretty 'cool', you could call it urban chic (this makes me a little uncomfortable but I believe it is relevant). The wine is great, specifically the syrah, and the guy behind the counter, Jesse, is a total sweetheart.
