Thank you for visiting Cellars 33, a San Francisco winery. Watch our video to learn more about who we are, our philosophy behind making great wines and the origins of our name. Hint: If you're a baseball fan or a Baltimore native, you'll quickly figure it out! We work in a large, clean winery in the Dogpatch neighborhood and are proud members of SFMade.

I first met Elyse in 2008 when we were both winery interns; Freeman Winery for me and August West for Elyse. A few years later, after she decided to move to the Lodi region, Elyse began to clue me into the wonderful things happening there and opened up the opportunity for us to purchase some wonderful fruit farmed by Markus Bokisch.

John was an absolutely amazing host, so extremely knowledgeable and passionate. It was cool to see how a winery can be situated in a major city. The grapes are brought from up north and transformed into wine here.
Best wishes to Cellars 33 Winery! And yelpers, support this local business! (It sounds like they'll be opening a tasting room soon -- can't remember exactly where but coming soon!)

Had a group wine tasting here with John. He was an excellent source of knowledge on wine! Each and every one of the wines we tried here (e.g. Pinot, Rose, Zinfandel) were exceptional. I enjoyed my time here at this tasting - paired with cheeses, crackers, and nuts. We purchased 4 bottles of wine. Thank you John for your time, kindness, and truly truly excellent wine!

Cellars 33 is an urban winery in SF that does not have an official tasting room. However, if you contact winemaker John Fones he may show you the facility. Cellars 33 makes excellent Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. John is also the winemaker for Von Holt Wines. John loves talking wine, so contact him soon!
