Orthodontics has come a long way in such a short time. Thanks to huge advancements in dental materials and technology, braces are smaller, more comfortable and more efficient in moving teeth than ever. Many of the materials we use were first developed by NASA. Perceptions and attitudes about braces have changed over the years, but the goal remains the same - to help each patient achieve a healthy, beautiful smile.
Even though most people think of pre-teens and teens when they think of orthodontics, there are good reasons your child should get an orthodontic evaluation much sooner. The American Association of Orthodontists recommends a check-up with an orthodontic specialist no later than age 7. 1. Orthodontists can spot subtle problems with jaw growth and emerging teeth while some baby teeth are still present.
Invisalign is the virtually invisible way to straighten your teeth without braces, using a series of clear, removable aligners to straighten your teeth without metal wires or brackets. You wear each set of clear aligners for about two weeks, removing them only to eat, drink, brush, and floss.

As you replace each aligner with the next in the series, your teeth will move - little by little, week by week - until they have straightened to the final position your orthodontist or dentist has prescribed. You'll visit your orthodontist or dentist about once every six weeks to ensure that your treatment is progressing as planned.
