Orthotics enhance or modify foot function and gait problems. Orthotic inserts are designed to treat various biomechanical problems in the feet, legs, and spine and can often eliminate the need for invasive surgery. Many orthotics are commercially manufactured over-the-counter devices (think Dr. Scholl's).
