In 2021, Houghton Marine Service, Inc. will celebrate over 43 years in the Mooring business. For the past 42 years Houghton Marine was the only mooring service in Winthrop and Boston Harbors. However, in 2021 Houghton Marine sold it's Winthrop and Boston customer base and is now moving the mooring hauler and all equipment to Marblehead and Salem Harbors to offer the same great service there as well.

Moorings with a Concrete block design work best for rocky bottom harbors such as Marblehead and Salem Harbors. Because of this, Houghton Marine only uses Concrete blocks in their mooring set ups. The life of your mooring equipment can be effected by environmental and other factors. Our estimates of how long mooring equipment will last are based upon our experience over the last 42 years in this business.
