Bathrooms are often the most neglected room in the house. That's because it's so inconvenient to do without through the remodel process.
Many people prefer natural materials such as granite. It's easy to see the appeal. Granite has a rich, lustrous look. It's somewhat heat and scratch resistant but like almost all surfaces, it can scratch and chip. The resilience depends on the type and quality of the granite. Some are more porous. All require care but it is quick and easy to apply sealant every year.
Hardwood floors are milled from a solid piece of lumber. They provide natural warmth, are resistant to wear, and can be sanded and refinished multiple times. Solid wood may expand and contract with varying humidity levels and are susceptible to scratches and dents. Wood flooring is not the best choice for damp spaces.
