AfterHours was created to give people a place to step out of their comfort zones and grow as dancers and as humans. Pam Wainer and I were talking over lunch about how much we missed Jimmie DeFore Dance Center. We had noticed that everyone was so spread out and many had stopped dancing. Missing the community we once had and motivated by our love of dance we decided to take matters into our own hands.
We proudly launched a month after that conversation! We started as a studio within a studio and a little over a year after launching we were able to move into a space of our own! Whether you danced as a kid, are a seasoned dancer or a first timer we have a class for you! We pride ourselves on building a community of dancers who are friendly, supportive and talented.

I've taken a few classes here. Marissa and I believe the other was Ray? Rob? They were outstanding. No complaints. Def, recommend.
Now onto the disappointing side. I took the burlesque class, I understand its a beginner class. It was BAD. Silly choreography. Uninspired instruction and overall a disappointment. Waste of money.

AfterHours is a great studio focused on adult dance education. Whether you've never danced before, want to pick up a new style, or are trying to maintain your skill, this place caters to all of your needs. Some classes seem to be more focused on technique than others, but I always learn something new when I go. In general, the classes are good practice for picking up choreography. The space is clean and well-taken care of. The staff is friendly, supportive, and passionate about what they do. Highly recommend.

I recently discovered this studio and am so happy I did! Shawn is not only an amazing dancer but an amazing teacher as well (being good at one doesn't necessarily mean you are good at the other, but Shawn is!). Shawn takes the time to learn her students' names and makes everyone feel welcome regardless of experience. Throughout the class she will… stop and ask if anyone has questions and if she sees you are struggling she'll give you pointers and tips. She makes class fun but keeps the pace challenging enough that you feel you are learning and improving. Definitely recommend you check out
