Services
Rio Vista Veterinary Hospital was established in 1987 at its current location by Dr. Keith Scudder. The property used had been in the Scudder family for generations. Placed adjacent to the Cohcoton River, the name Rio Vista, a Spanish term meaning "river view", fit appropriately. In those early days, the hospital was surrounded by a rich area of agriculture and was a mainstay for veterinary care for large animals in the community.
Dr. Dodds is a native of Steuben county and grew up in Cohocton, NY. She attended Alfred State College for her associates in Veterinary Technology followed by the State University of New York at Geneseo for her Bachelor's of Science in Biology. She then went on to attend the Atlantic Veterinary College at the University of Prince Edward Island, PEI Canada where she earned her Doctors of Veterinary Medicine.
At Rio Vista Veterinary Hospital, we believe that a pet's owner and their health care team should work together to formulate a tailor made health care program based on their pet's needs. We believe that there is no part of owning a pet that is too big or small to seek support from your veterinary team.
Our staff works very diligently to ensure that your trip to our office is not laden with unnecessary stress. Whether this is your first pet, or simply your first time bringing this pet to our hospital, here are some helpful tips for making your first visit a pleasant experience. Some cats can be difficult for owners to bring in for regular visits.
While boarding with us, your pets safety and care are our highest priority. Our aim is to ensure that your pets stay is as comfortable, safe, and stress free as it can be. Our feline boarding facility offers a relaxed and low stress environment for cats to spend time away from home.
All felines are placed in multi-level kitty condos, given kitty caves to allow them to feel more secure as well as multiple soft blankets, and a cage cover if it is helpful.All boarders are given fresh water, litter, and bedding daily, and our boarding fee also includes the feeding of our stocked kennel food (Royal Canin Gastrointestinal Moderate Calorie).

Very nice polite and caring staff Professional Veterinary Clinic just moved back from Texas try to find a veterinarian this area for a my little schnauzer Corning Animal Hospital and Town & Country Hospital told me to call on March 13th give me a name to call and they set me up an appointment take me on as a client I want set up the appointment in January when I called said that they were taking them they told me no I was too far out so when I call back I was told to they said they're not taking any so we are best Rio Vista took me in you want a great animal that go there the other ones are very

Recently started taking my older dog to the vet for regular checkups, nail trims, grooming etc. They are all very compassionate towards my dog. I like the way they interact with her. She always comes out happy, and looking great. Even during the pandemic they make time and do a great job. Keeping me informed along the way. Thank you rio vista staff for doing a great job and for caring for our animals as much as we do.

Rio Vista is a great vet. They're really great with my cat and my dog. Always friendly and personable, making follow up calls after visits to make sure my pets are feeling better. Their prices are also very fair. I've never felt like I was getting ripped off, and they gave us a price break wherever they could when our dog got very sick and had to make several visits. I highly recommend this vet.
