Services
First Star Recycling was formed in 1997 with the mission to enhance the Nebraska's recycling infrastructure. We started operations in the spring of 1998 in Fremont. Surprised by our growth and to be closer to several new customers within Omaha, we relocated to a larger facility there in the fall of 1999.
First Star Recycling is proud to provide residential recycling services to the City of Omaha, Lincoln and beyond. It is estimated that the United States throws away over $11 billion worth of recyclable containers and packaging every year. We make recycling as simple and convenient as possible as our material recovery facility utilizes a single stream process which allows you to put all recyclables in the same bin without sorting.
For information on the City of Omaha Recycling Program, please refer to the city's website Wasteline. Recycling Bins for City of Omaha residents are available for collection from the following locations. For residents in surrounding areas or those with independent waste contractors, please refer to your hauler.
Recyclables can also be recycled at home and taken to a public drop-off site. Most sites are open 24/7. You can use the City of Lincoln interactive map to find the drop-off site closest to your home. First Star Recycling works with multiple local Lincoln recycling haulers to make recycling as simple as possible for you and your family.
Your kitchen is one of the most used rooms in your home and often has the most products laying around. Did you know that most of those products can be recycled?
