Braces do not often hurt, though you may feel a small amount of discomfort for a couple of days as your teeth, gums, cheeks, and mouth get used to your new braces. Generally, braces have to be worn roughly from 18 months up to 2 full years. There are some cases for others when the braces need to stay on longer and there are also those who only need to wear braces for shorter terms.
