The penthouse we got smelled of old rags! The carpet color looked off, and the pillows smelled a bit. Even the walls were dirty! The lobby staff was absolutely horrible. Did not give us indications that guests must take off their bracelets if they wish to leave in order to bring in another guest. Very rude, and no wiggle room. The wifi wasn’t working and the rooms didn’t have phones! This place was far from luxurious. I’ve stayed at 3 star hotels much better than this.

We stayed at the Pearl. Older hotel, but it was a pleasant stay. Pool was fun, loved the beach access. I was not too happy about not getting the room I booked and downgraded, but of course it was cheaper, not accommodated for the inconvenience. We got the couples massage at the spa, and it was amazing!

There wasn't really anything luxurious about our stay at Sapphire. Our first night there the towel rack fell off the wall because screws were driven into drywall without proper anchors. And based on the scuffs on the wall we weren't the first to have this happen to us. How can the house keeping staff knowingly hang towels on a broken rack?
Additionally, for some strange reason periodically the unit would have no cold water, so when bathing my children the options were scalding and boiling.

The rooms are amazing, the location is perfect, but the staff is very obnoxious about having guests over. Although there is a pandemic and the limitation of guests is understandable, they do not allow for any flexibility when it comes to guardians of children. I also think the staff could have been more friendly when delivering this message. They did not clarify about verifying the departure of guests and this is something they should always mention when they see people walking out of the building with luggage, as that is a great way to avoid future issues.
