I grew up in Fresno and attended Fresno State (graduated in 2009). I then continued on to optometry school in New York City at the State University of New York, College of Optometry (graduated in 2013). It has been a great 5 years of service so far and I am looking forward to many more! When I'm not in the office, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Mike, my daughter, Alexis, and our ever expanding family of cats.

I was seen by this doctor back in February. They offered me some kind of overnight lenses that was supposed to make my vision better but was the opposite I called the right after the first week to let them know my eyes were getting worse and now i was feeling pain Clarissa one of the employees told me that was normal that eventually my eyes will get used to the CRT but i honestly after the 3 week stop using them my eyes were red and in pain. I called the office again, but the doctor wasn’t in she was off for a week so i have to look for another eye doctor i couldn’t wait a week i wasn’t able

This place isn't the same since Joni is no longer here. The reason we came here was the customer service and how welcomed we felt. They would have pictures of their patients all over the walls, they would offer you coffee or tea when you walked in, they would give little gifts of appreciation, and they would genuinely act happy to see you. Now it's a boring office where you are just a number like everywhere else. This was the only eye optometrist to have an opening appointment for a contact exam, so I decided to make a visit. I would had enjoyed this optometrist if it weren't for how long it took to get my contacts. I understand they didn't have the ones I usually wear, so they had to place an order. I get my contacts from 1-800 contacts much faster. So the fact that I had to call to find out if my contacts had arrived isn't great service. As soon as I called, they indeed had my contacts. I started looking for a new pediatric optometrist about 2 years ago for my daughter that was closer to home. I stumbled across Dr Johnston and just loved her. She's very thorough, explains all questions and best part is my daughter enjoys her visits. My husband and I ended up switching as well to ICare. The staff is very kind, helpful and friendly. My prescriptions arrive in the time frame they give me and sometimes sooner. The office itself is very cute and homey. Completely blown away! Just came out of my appointment ON A SATURDAY!
1) their availability, to be open on a Saturday is a life saver!
2) they're in network with VSP!
3) the place is very cute, decorated very pleasing and kind of homey but more on the home goods aesthetic if you know what I mean.
4) the customer service was absolutely excellent. So many smiling faces, never was I waiting around to be noticed. Everyone was on top of it.
5) the equipment was nice, the exams were pretty fast.
6) the optometrist was really awesome, very nice and made the appointment very pleasant.

I had recently moved near there. They were quick to take me as a "walk in" even though they did "appointments only". Staff is incredibly nice and helpful. They answered all my questions and helped me with everything I needed, regarding my contacts and eye glasses.
Then, I moved back home. I thought they wouldn't be as nice since I was asking for them to send my my prescription. But they, instead, asked if I wanted it "emailed or faxed". Because they were so helpful, I decided to just order another set contacts through them and ask for it to be shipped here.

This is the most AMAZING staff!! Every single person there makes your appointment a joy from the moment you walk through the door, until (and sometimes even after) the time you leave. The whole office exudes happiness and joy and it is not only refreshing, but uplifting for the patient especially. This highly professional staff is very friendly, patient and very knowledgeable in their fields. I have been to other doctors and I can honestly say, this place is THE best place ever! I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Kirby's office to everyone!
