It all started with an Irish immigrant with an entrepreneurial spirit, determined to make a comfortable living in his new home of Canada. In 1970, the late Desmond Rice launched Weed Man Lawn Care with his wife, Brenda, to meet the rising demand for professional lawn care, weed control, and pest management services in his local community.
Armed with a single pickup truck and a passion for creating healthy outdoor spaces, Des soon became known by neighborhood children as the "Weed Man." It wasn't long before Des and Brenda managed to turn Weed Man into Canada's premier lawn care company, and, in 1976, the two began extending the brand's reach by franchising the concept nationwide.

Once you have had your initial consultation with your local Weed Man expert, you will have the chance to take a more in-depth look at the opportunity, seeing what it's like to spend a day in the life of a Weed Man franchisee. During this step in the process, you will be provided with a list of existing Weed Man owners. We strongly encourage you to contact one or all of these individuals. From the online training resources, proven day to day systems and in general access to expert support they have been great to deal with. They are a great group to deal with!

Working for a franchise network (especially Weed Man!) is incredibly rewarding. Your peers become your family, because everyone knows the struggle of entrepreneurship, has overcome the same challenges and rose to the top. The culture across the network is undeniable. It's no wonder Weed Man was ranked the #1 lawn care franchise in North America.

May 2018 my lawn, a month prior to Weedman’s service and images of my lawn during their monthly services till August 2018 I feel the photos speak for themselves, I am not impressed or happy with the service provided by Weedman and the damage is extensive to my lawn. The weeds became worse during treatment, along with burning my lawn. They are to be the experts in lawn care and I definitely did not receive satisfactory service. I expressed dissatisfaction on several occasions and the only way to resolve the issue was more services which I was billed for costing twice as much a month to fix their
