At Karibe you will learn from one of the first instructors to bring L.A. style to Miami. Jose Luis, and his team of instructors will make sure that you learn from the basic to the most advanced steps in salsa dancing. Bachata was originated in the Dominican Republic but it has now grown from "typical" bachata dance to sensual bachata dance.

At Karibe you'll learn about the two kinds of Bachata dancing, all levels welcome! Street style dancing is at Karibe for both adults & kids and everyone is loving it. This style of dance brings the energy you have been hiding inside of you, helping you build a lot of stage presence and confidence along the way.

Meet our Founder Report

Originally from the Dominican Republic, Jose Luis Gutierrez's dancing career began in 1992 in Los Angeles while he was in the Marine Corps. During his time in the Marine Corps, Jose Luis was active for 8 years total, from being in charge of Supply Administration of his unit to then becoming Sergeant in just 4 years of his placement.

Jose Luis is a phenomenal instructor. He teaches cool turn patterns and teaches proper technique. He keeps a very good structure to the class and there's a good balance between him teaching and the students getting to practice to music. He makes great use of our time in class.

Jose is a great instructor and the studio is a very welcoming environment. I just finished the beginner course and a four week intermediate course. They were both fun and challenging at the same time. I highly recommend this place for LA style salsa!

Rented the dance studio, and it met all of our group’s needs! The rental rate was great and the studio was very well equipped. Adriana was very communicative and helpful in arranging the rental. I’d definitely recommend if you’re looking for a space for a dance rehearsal!

I’ve been to a few studios and I believe this is probably the best in South Florida , the quality of the instructors are at a master level. The energy is high, you walk out of this studio feeling like you’ve actually learned something that you could use on the dance floor. If you truly want to learn Salsa don’t give it another thought.

Good environment and you feel welcome right away. The instructor is very friendly and is a great dancer. In just 2 classes I have learned so much. The classes can be a bit big so he cannot show you personally usually but you have enough times to try it out and you can also set up a private lesson for more detailed instruction. Highly recommend this for beginners and intermediate/advanced.
