The appointment includes a detailed review of your current and past health conditions, pulse diagnosis and other physical evaluations such as tongue or abdominal diagnosis, as necessary to complete a comprehensive treatment plan. The evaluation will be followed by your initial acupuncture treatment.
The people who developed this highly sophisticated medicine thousands of years ago lived in agrarian societies, where fertility was of the utmost importance. Therefore, much classical literature was written on the subject of gynecology. This ancient knowledge paired with a contemporary scientific understanding gives us the best tools available for treating women's health.
Acupuncture is an effective treatment for many different types of health concerns, including (but not limited to) chronic and acute pain, respiratory issues, digestive issues, inflammatory conditions, sexual and reproductive health, auto-immune disorders, anxiety and depression, and chronic fatigue.
Chinese herbs are comprised mostly of plant material: roots, stems, leaves, bark, flowers, and tree resins are all part of the Chinese Materia Medica. Minerals such as various shells and stones are also some of our favorite remedies. To a lesser degree, some animal products are used as well. Let your practitioner know if you are vegetarian or vegan and she will leave those components out of any formula she may prescribe for you.
I got my lab work done this week and just reviewed my results with my doctor. My prolactin level dropped to normal range (first time in years), my iron levels are normal for the first time, my ferritin levels are normal, my T3 is in normal range, and my thyroid antibodies are dropping into normal range as well.

Ahhhh. Where do I start? She's fabulous! Never done acupuncture but someone said I should look into it for my nerve problem in my foot and other things. When I left my first visit, I felt like I was walking on clouds, had a pep in my step. I will never forget that. The pain has decreased and my sugar levels were improving. I recommend her highly. Kathryn is sweet, kind, compassionate and knows her stuff. :) You won't regret it.

Kathryn is a very talented and gifted healer. She’s very good at what she does. She’s very understanding and listens to your concerns. I have been suffering from chronic inflammation / acid reflux for a very long time. Pain in my right shoulder/arm, stomach, my sides and sleeplessness. Since Kathryn has begun to treat me I am extremely pleased with my results. I’m sleeping better, my pain has improved tremendously and my quality of life has also improved. Zenith Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine is superb! Kathryn is very caring, takes time to listen to the issues, and works very carefully and methodically toward finding a solution. Though she is very knowledgeable, she continues to study to ensure that she's completely up-to-date in her administration of both acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine. I have had headaches due to weather for at least 10 years. It was not uncommon for me to miss work or be bedridden by the pressure and throbbing with storms, barometer changes and wind. I called it my lame superpower since I could predict the weather so well I could tell people when to buy groceries or we were getting a storm front.
