Established in 1968 and incorporated in 1971, our center is the oldest active yoga studio in South Florida. The Yoga Center of Deerfield Beach was opened by Madhu over fifty years ago in memory of her daughter, a young yogini, Gail Teichmann. Gail had served youth and cared for animals at a Ma Yoga Shakti Mission in India.
Dotty Zevin owned the center for 27 years. Louise Goldberg became the owner/ director in 2016. Today the Yoga Center hosts a variety of yoga classes every day of the week. Day and night classes include Hatha Yoga, Gentle Yoga, Restorative, Stress Reduction, Yoga Basics, Yin Yoga, Yoga Nidra, Yoga for Back Health, Yoga for Core Strength and Balance, Children's Yoga, Yoga Flow, Wall Yoga, Yoga Fusion, Feldenkrais, and Tai Chi.

Services
Workshops for teachers and advanced students are held once a month. Explore techniques and philosophy and deepen your understanding and practice of the vast and treasured teachings of yoga. These workshops are intended to advance yoga teachers and serious practitioners by providing deeper explorations into asana, pranayama, meditation, anatomy, philosophy in a well-planned, experiential atmosphere.
The Anusara style of yoga blends the science of biomechanics and the art of opening to grace to add more joy and beauty to the world. It cultivates skills and virtues to empower the yoga practitioner to become the person that he or she wants to be both on and off of the mat. The results are freedom in the body, mind, and heart, with a more expansive perspective of life.

The Yoga Center of Deerfield has been in operation for more than 35 years. How many places can say that? This is the real thing people, not hot yoga, not gym yoga, no rock n roll music playing so loud you can hardly hear yourself breathe, not show-off yoga. This studio is devoted to developing a centered spirit in sync with your body and practice. The first review is utter hogwash. I know because my mother has taught here for 30+ years. I am biased but I do know what I am talking about. I have taken yoga at many places around the country and the teachers here are extremely well trained, kind,

I almost didn't want to write any review.. because I've been to many studios in the past that made me anxious with how crowded their classes were, but I can't help saying that this place is the best if you're interested in the relaxing, calming type of yoga-- not the intense or quick/workout type, which I personally can't stand.
So, this studio always has just enough space where I don't feel squished, and they are the nicest ladies ever. You always have to try several teachers though to find the one whose style you love the most, which I did :) I love their Gentle

I attended a class there while on vacation. The instructor was several minutes late, which I'm told happens frequently. She was not particularly friendly or welcoming and the class was not very satisfying. If I were to go back I would take a class with a different teacher.
A positive is they do not charge for mat rental as some studios do.

This is the best yoga center in South Florida
If your looking for true Hatha Raja yoga experience, both the philosophy and the asana this is the place to go.
This center has been here for years. The teachers are all excellent and well trained in both yoga philosophy and the best teaching techniques.
No gym yoga here. They offer an excellent teacher training program as well as many additional activities to promote the yogi lifestyle. This center is truly a life changing experience
I highly recommend you give a class a try.

I don't understand the first review, and I note it was entered many years ago. I've always found instructors at the Yoga Center of Deerfield to be supportive, helpful and compassionate. And enormously experienced. The Yoga Center is a wonderful little oasis of calm and peace within the craziness of Deerfield Beach. Just walking in the door is relaxing!

I love yoga and was so happy to find a studio close by but I was severely disappointed. The staff seemed so un-zen and unfriendly to new comers. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and came back for different instructors, different times of the week. I personally have been practicing yoga for years, different styles and schools. I've never encountered such unhelpful instructors. The studio itself was actually stinky, like smelly. Sadly I do not recommend this studio and am surprised they are still in business.
