Early attempts to establish a hospital in Rochelle were short-lived. In 1913, A.W. Chandler, M.D., established community healthcare with the opening of Lincoln Hospital, located in an apartment building on 13th Street. The hospital served the area until 1924 when Dr. Louis Petritz purchased it and became the owner/director.

He served as director of Lincoln Hospital's operation for several years but had to close its door due to bankruptcy at the beginning of the Great Depression in 1930. Rochelle was without local hospital service again until March of 1931, when Mrs. Marie Talcott reopened and operated the Lincoln Hospital once more.
Services
Rochelle Community Hospital Foundation continues to grow due to the hardworking, devoted, loyal people of this community - the true owners of this hospital. We have been caring for generations of families, and your generous support helps ensure that this quality healthcare continues. Together, we can secure the future of our community's healthcare, maintain a vital community asset and preserve a community gift.
At Rochelle Community Hospital, we believe in individual attention, and our volunteers help provide some of that individualized care. By becoming a member of the Auxiliary ($10 dues per year or $150 for a life membership), you can easily be a volunteer too. Right now, there are about 220 men and women serving as volunteers.
With hospital expansion and improvements needed immediately, the community came together with an outpouring of generosity, raising $1,250,000 for hospital growth! Since then, the entire Rochelle community has focused its talents and resources on seeing it grow to become one of the leading rural community hospitals in the nation!
At Rochelle Community Hospital, we strive daily to provide our patients with the best healthcare possible. If you have comments about the level of care you have received at Rochelle Community Hospital, please call Quality Management at 815-562-2181, ext. 2480. Or contact us at quality@rcha.net. I recently was admitted to Rochelle Community Hospital for procedures, treatments, etc. The care was excellent; doctors, nurses, and other staff were pleasant, professional and friendly. I enjoyed my meals and the call lights were answered promptly. The window even had the best view in the area--a red maple. I thank everyone who cared for me and thoroughly recommend RCH.

One star is not low enough for this hospital. Scratch that, The word hospital should not pertain to this facility. Hospitals are they to help. This FACILITY is not there for that purpose. They're Shameful and should be shut down.

In June 2021 i had to have a surgery and my doctor who is also out of Rockford suggested that since Rochelle was closer to me, that I have my surgery there. I’m not sure which was the best decision, finally getting the surgery done after many years or going to the Rochelle hospital. Everything went so far beyond my expectations!
From the moment that I checked in until my discharge a few hours later, I couldn’t have felt more welcome and cared for. I would recommend them to anyone seeking quality care in an atmosphere complete with people devoted to their careers and not afraid to show it!

I had to go to Rochelle Community Hospital for a hot, red and swollen leg. From the moment of my arrival to discharge I felt truly cared for. Dr. Mastro kept me well informed throughout my visit. We discussed all the test results from the lab and ultrasound and included me in the decision making process regarding my treatment. The nurses, Tyanne and Jordan were absolutely professional and concerned for my well being and comfort. I would recommend RCH to any of my friends and family. World class treatment.

I took my daughter to Urgent Care in Rochelle Hospital. Patient registration was quick and easy. The lady who registered us was nice and helpful. The nurse practitioner was nice and thorough. The process of ordering and having an x-ray done was fast and we got the results back pretty quick too. Over all Urgent Care was pretty good.

The local hospital offers modest accommodations with the best service in town that they can provide. I've had multiple family and friends visit this location and I've never seen unfair or bad treatment from any of the staff or patients. They even include a fitness center with well kept equipment.

DO NOT BRING YOUR CHILD HERE!!! i took my FOUR MONTH old to this hospital with a 103 degree fever among many other symptoms. she would barely move and she'd never been sick. the doctor told us she might have "that one thing" referring to COVID and touched the back of her head and said she "wasn't THAT warm" and literally shrugged and said he didn't know what to do. THIS IS WHEN I WALKED IN. we waited two hours and got no answers. they "treated her" with an antibiotic that my pediatrician said he used as a write-off to get it over with. if my child did have something serious, her life would have

Absolutely awful here. Does this hospital management/owners and staff even care? Look at all these horrible reviews and still I sit here, trying to get a friend some help, read thru some of them to now understand why all these one star or less reviews I shouldn't of ignored before coming here, i should have taken taken her to Dixon and followed my intuition!! Get it together! This ER and staff should truly be ashamed of themselves working in the public, people needing care and you all act indifferent to anyone's needs! Never again!
