Since 1959, our parent company Bethesda Senior Living Communities has been providing quality service to our country's aging population, and continues to serve with excellence through our independent, assisted living and memory care communities and through benevolent outreach. As a faith-based organization, we embrace a philosophy of selfless service.
Ashley was drawn to senior care through her personal experience with her mother, who was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer's in 2005. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and after many years as a marketing professional in the real estate industry, she wanted to make a change.
We provide long-term and short-term assisted living, as well as memory care for residents with Alzheimer's and/or dementia. We have a well-trained team of professionals dedicated to serving all the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of our residents. Our goal is to provide a stimulating environment where residents get to know each other and our team by name.

My Mom has been a resident now for six months. I couldn't be happier with the care she receives, the attentive staff, the variety of activities, or the facility itself. I searched for 4 weeks touring dozens of communities to find the right home for Mom. I believe no facility is absolutely perfect, but what I appreciate so much about The Gardens, is the great staff is always attentive and willing to listen and help address any issue or concern that I have raised. Grateful for such a safe, clean, secure, and happy home for my Mother.

The Gardens at Barry Road staff have been very polite and caring to my parents. I have found it necessary to call with questions frequently, and the staff are always happy to help. The facility is clean and my parents are getting wonderful care. As soon as the COVID-19 regulations are lifted, I look forward to being able to go in and meet these wonderful people in person. I highly recommend the Gardens at Barry Road!

My father really enjoyed living at the Gardens. He liked the staff, he loved the music and the social interaction. He also enjoyed the great meals as well. When in the hospital, he kept asking when he could return to the Gardens. That says a lot! We've appreciated the love and care he has received and are so grateful for the caring staff.

This is a caring place for your family! they get attention, physical assistance, health conscious needs, tasty meals and treat our family with respect. they have also been taking extra cares to keep covid out. i also love that we family members get regular emails updating us about procedures and current events at the facility. Mom with her Alzheimers calls her assisted living area her "apartment " and still feels independent! thank you The Gardens at Barry Road😍❤

My mother-in-law resided here for 8 years before needing skilled nursing. Loved the staff and how she was cared for. When the time came to place my parents in assisted living, my husband and I really didn’t even consider any other place. Though the staff has changed some, the administration is committed to hiring caring, competent people to serve their residents. The peace of mind and assurance of care are wonderful.

For all who maybe looking for an Assisted Living facility for your loved one, The Gardens at Barry Road is the perfect place! My Mom broke her hip a year ago, she went through therapy, and after her healing process, our family decided that it was best that she not live alone anymore. Not knowing the Kansas City area well, we started investigating facilities around the area. The first stop was The Gardens at Barry Road and WOW! we were very impressed. Very beautifully designed inside and out. The building inside has a lot of natural lighting and the outside grounds are very well taken care of. Perfect

The Gardens at Barry Road is an excellent choice for assisted living. All of the staff we encountered from nurses, aides, and office/ administrators, to dining room staff, maintenance and housekeeping etc were pleasant, polite, helpful, and friendly to my mother (for short term respite care) and my mother-in-law (for assisted living), as well as, to our family when we visited. The office staff were so helpful and knowledgeable in walking us through the business end and paperwork.They demonstrate genuine tender loving care for their residents. They made our loved ones feel at home and cared about

My father has lived at the Gardens at Barry Road for about 2.5 years. The staff is very friendly and they get to know each resident and the resident's particular needs. There is an activities director and there are a variety of outings/entertainment/exercises/birthday parties that the residents can choose from. Meals are varied with a choice of two daily specials, or the resident/guest can order off the menu. There are special buffets for residents/family around Xmas and Easter with visits from Santa and the Easter bunny. The staff will even check on the resident if they don't show up in the dining

The Gardens at Barry Road has been an answer to prayer for my family. My mother-in-law relocated to Kansas City after a fall-related injury. She experienced a major transition as she left her home, friends, and everything familiar...literally 1200 miles away! The Gardens was a shining light in that difficult time.
