Services
Zion Lutheran Preschool has maintained its high standards of nurturing and educating young children for over 40 years! As the need for quality Christian childcare was noted and the trend for children to socialize outside their own backyards became a norm, our school began to grow. We had larger enrollments each year, prompting the hiring of more teachers and teaching assistants.
Our preschool offers programs to foster the physical, social, emotional and intellectual needs of young children. We provide a positive approach to your child's growth and learning in an atmosphere of play. Zion Lutheran Preschool welcomes all children ages 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6! We are a nonprofit, nondenominational Christian preschool, an outreach mission of Zion Lutheran Church.
Zion Lutheran Preschool is dedicated to providing an excellent preschool program for young children 2 to 5 years of age, enabling them to develop and grow in a loving and nurturing Christian environment. The staff respects the individuality of each child as unique and special, while providing a group setting to enhance the social skills of all the children.
Dawn Platchek is our School Director. She graduated from Millersville University with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary and Early Childhood Education. She has experience working as a teacher with children ages six weeks through Kindergarten in an early childhood center. Also, she taught the Gifted Program in the Twin Valley School District for a year.
Zion Lutheran Preschool is proudly sponsored by Zion Lutheran Church and administered by a Board of Directors elected by the Church Congregation. Board positions are for 3-year terms and one-third of the Board comes due for re-election annually at the May assembly of the church.

Our energetic School Board meets monthly to determine policy, evaluate recommendations offered by the Director and review the status of the school, both financially and educationally.Rev. Tina Mackie, Pastor of Zion Lutheran Church, and Mrs. Shawn Rogers, the Director of Christian Education also attend the monthly board meetings.

Our teachers have been great, the office staff are kind and helpful! They have fun events all the time. My son is comfortable and happy to go there and he has learned and grown so much! Their schedule is so flexible and can be altered to fit anyone's needs! I couldn't have more good things to say about Zion. I'm Incredibly thankful we found them!
