I'm so employees are never rude and I have never had a bad experience and they have black cake which is something I don't see many places and it is good which is amazing.

For the past 9 years, The Sunshine Jamaican Restaurant team have brought the flavors of the Caribbean to the Atlanta area. The group pride themselves in producing the best quality Caribbean cuisine. Sunshine Jamaican Restaurant is located at 5998 Memorial Drive, Stone Mountain GA, it is easy for patrons to feel as if they have been transported to the tropics with style.
All meals served with your choice of Rice and Peas, Steamed rice, Boiled Banana and/or dumpling along with steamed cabbage or salad and fried ripe plantains if available. Snapper or Butter fish steamed with onions, bell pepper, garlic and other Caribbean spices. Made to order. Large Shrimp smothered in coconut curry sauce with carrots, thyme, onions, parsley and other vegetables and seasoning.

So honestly the gravy watered down. 4 oxtails on a large plate for 27 dollars is crazy and it’s not real Jamaican food cause I’ve definitely had real b4. It’s lacks favor. They give lots of rice and it’s ok cabbage could have little more seasoning and the oxtails again lack flavor. They are tender thought so I’ll give them that. Also the lady at the front desk rude rude attitude I mean customer service goes along way

$43 for 3 pieces and bone of oxtail in the first place in the other one two big pieces of oxtail and 3 bones with a corner of meat come on now if you going to sale oxtail at this price actually give us some oxtail not a taste I paid for rice and a tease of oxtail never again I'm so upset I spent $43 I'm uploading a pic with the oxtail pushed to the side smh they gave me more salad then oxtail

This is the THIRD time they have messed up my order. I have told them numerous times to add gravy, plantains and a patty. They gave me NO patty or plantains or gravy like I told them but still charged me for the extra. I will NOT order from this place again. Very unprofessional. If you see this I deserve a free patty and plantains at the very least. If you see this, I have photos to show. Completely unacceptable.
They also do NOT listen to what I want with my order. After I say it repetitively.

My boyfriend and I were frantically looking for a place to go because the other place we were going to was closed. Luckily we found this place on a Sunday!
I didn't get a pic of his so here's mine lol.
*I ordered goat curry with rice and beans, cabbage and plantains. This meal was bomb! The rice is the only thing that was on the dryer side lol (totally okay). But the goat was seasoned SO good. It was so tender snd juicy! Had real meat on them. My first bite was amazing lol. The cabbage was really good too! Everything went so well with the eachother other. The plantains were the best

I ordered 2 large curry chicken plates for my girlfriend and I. The flavor was good, but the chicken was undercooked. Both plates the chicken was really pink on the inside. Now this happened before to me. That's we stopped getting it and my gf was sick a few hours later. But the beef patties are good!

Normally I would give them a four or five so this review is only for my visit today the girl at the register was very rude to me she was very argumentative she left an item off my order and told me I didn't order that and turned her back on me so I told her what I said and she said she did not have time to argue with someone trying to tell her what she said even though I was telling her what I said she turned her back on me again she was very rude she's a little short dumpy fat girl with short hair I can tell just by her attitude that she gives people problems all the time so if you go

So I believe the only thing that is fresh on this plate is probably the goat meat. Honest I don’t believe that is either. The rice is very mushy as if it was warmed up from last night the cabbage is not done at all like they cut it up put it on just to add warmth there just for like literally a minute and then idk. Presentation portion and smell is great but the preparation is awful. In addition they took forever to bring out our To go plates. Never ever will I eat here.

Doesn't look like much when you walk past but I'm glad I took the chance. There aren't many good jamaican food spots in Atlanta but THIS IS IT. The food and the service is amazing!!! Their menu options are vesatile and gives you a chance to taste serval dishes in one. I always get the Oxtail and Curry Goat combo with rice & peas and cabbage. It's so good you should definitely try it.

I was so excited this place was open because I went to two other Jamaican spots and both were closed (grr). There was a little bit of a line but it didn't take but 10-15 minutes for me to receive my order after placing it. There were so many things on the menu but they have a sign advertising combo plates so I decided on that. It comes with two meats, two sides, and plantains (and now that I think about it I never got my plantains. Im going to have to call and I'll give an update later). Food is of good portion and cheap price. The pork jerky is very tasty and a little spicy. The fried chicken is different from American fried chicken, and is also tasty. The girl at the ordering counter is not good at explaining things at all. Not impressed with her. Even dining in dishes come in to-go boxes, which is strange, and shows this place is not remotely interested in creating a good dining experience. But food quality and portion deserve 5 stars.
