Services
At Greater New Orleans Eye Care, Dr. Jeffrey Wilhite and our entire Marrero optometry team are committed to providing advanced vision care in a professional and comfortable environment. As an optometrist in Marrero, our primary eye care service includes a complete eye exam that analyzes eye health and vision function.
Optomap is a tool that assists us in the evaluation of your retina. With optomap we can discover any abnormalities or confirm the health of your retina, diagnose any potentially harmful diseases, and if necessary, determine the best course of action. An annual comprehensive eye exam is an important component of your health care regimen.
Our new camera allow us to photograph the anterior portion of the eye and the poster portion of the eye called the retina. This photograph is a great way to obtain and save a static image annually to ensure no changes in the retina have occurred from high blood pressure, diabetes, cholesterol, glaucoma, macular degeneration, etc.
Glasses say so much about your personality and personal style. At Greater New Orleans Eye Care, we are happy to work with you in selecting frames that complement your features. Our experienced optometry professionals work closely with you to select the proper frames to fit your budget as well as your cosmetic, lifestyle, and vision needs.
At Greater New Orleans Eye Care, we strive to meet all of your eye and vision care needs. Corrective lens evaluations and prescription management are provided by our Doctors. After a comprehensive eye and vision evaluation, we will discuss the variety of contact lens options with you to select the type that best fits your vision needs and lifestyle.

Never smiled so much at a 1st time doctor’s appointment. From the moment you walk in, you notice cleanliness and COVID safety precautions strictly enforced. Ms. Brenda, the receptionist was very professional and helpful. Wait time was 15 minutes after checking in & signing paperwork. Dr. Jeff Wilhite is a “rock star” optometrist! He loves what he does and it shows in his patient care. All patients are welcome and made to feel comfortable and safe.

**UPDATE**
Not even a few hours later I was contacted by the Eye doctor himself to resolve the issue. He apologized, explained where things went wrong with my in office experience as well as how he is going to be fixing them to ensure they do not happen again to myself or anyone else. Additionally, he has gone above and beyond to make things right. I appreciate that in a business and will be back! I thank you very much for being an honest business who works to rectify any problems. THANK YOU!

My first eye exam was a horrifying experience of being misdiagnosed of near sight in my left eye and far sight in my right, that ultimately left me cross eyed after wearing said prescribed glasses. Severe headaches began to arise, so...... Reluctantly at first, I decided to make an appt. with Dr. Wilhite. Best I decision eye have ever made. (Wait, did the 1st exam leave me dyslexic too?) On the brighter side of things, no pun intended, my 2nd exam by Dr. Wilhite deemed my vision 20/20 and I only needed a pair of regular reading glasses from a nearby Walgreens. Talk about honesty in a business

My things see Dr Jeff. He is awesome with kids. The location is a bit shabby but well worth it for Dr Jeff. Glasses take a little while to come in but not that bad. I think thing 1s took two weeks last time. They also let me know that my insurance covered replacement glasses and I should order them before they need it ( because they will). Nice foresight! Lol!

Mom notes: toys in the waiting area, wide selection of kid frames

Dr Jeff & Dr Tara are possibly the most hospitable and attentive eye doctors I've ever met. New owners of this location - and clearly invested in providing personal eye care. So many frame & contact options - great staff - great location.

...Tell them Holly sent you!
