A few days ago our furnace was acting up as the fan would turn on, but the pilot light/burner (pardon the incorrect HVAC jargon) wouldn't turn on, and coincidently and unfortunately, the unit was leaking water when I would run the furnace. We used Freedom Heating and Cooling once before about 5 years ago for a maintenance and subsequent humidifier install. As many contractors do, they adhered a branded maintenance schedule on the unit with dates/details of each visit. Because we remembered Freedom was reliable back then, we gave them a call to come out (we live in a condo in the West Loop

I came across a fb add for Freedom Heating and Cooling and boy am I glad. I decided to try them as I just purchased a new home and I wanted to have a furnace check up for the winter. Everyone from the office to Nick my technician was of the highest in professionalism. Nick checked the furnace and explained different parts of it to me. 5 star review for Freedom Heating & Cooling! Kyle R. delivered professional, prompt & honest support in regards to our AC unit. I called to obtain and estimate on cost of repairs or replacement and Kyle was honest to say, the unit still works (23 year old unit). He explained over a call what the issue was and he left it functional-able. It was an error on our end, where we the user weren't able to properly get the system to run. I noticed my air conditioning compressor was not turning on. A co worker of mine recommended Freedom Heating & Cooling. I am very pleased with the service. My air conditioner was old had a leak in it, and the technician recommended i replace at this time. I was given a very reasonable proposal, and decided to go with the installation. The air conditioner was able to be put in the next day and the technicians were quick ,neat, and explained everything i need to know about my new air conditioner. They also threw in a Maintenance plan which includes a Furnace tuneup in the Fall , and a Air conditioning

Tried to figure out why our thermostat wouldn't turn on the air conditioning. We tried googling the issue but still couldn't solve it. We called one company that quoted us $120 just to come out, then called Freedom who came out for only $69. The service guy Nick found a bad fuse on our circuit board. He pulled one out of his pocket and replaced it. Then he turned on the a/c and offered us a cleaning because it was very dirty (don't remember the last time that was done) .. he charged us an additional $49 which still came out cheaper than the other guys. After going back and forth with a few different companies, I ended up pulling the trigger with Freedom. My system was over 26 years old and it was time to replace it. These guys gave me a reasonable price, the longest warranties, and a free 2 year maintenance agreement (the Patriot Plan). Billy and Rick were the two gentleman that installed our new equipment and they did great work. They showed me everything about my new system, explained some DIY things to keep it in good shape to keep it in good shape, and also showed me my new filter rack (so much easier to change my filter now). I called late last night because the A/C at my condo stopped working and was not blowing out cold air (only warm) They sent someone out right away in the early morning (within hours of my call) . Nick found the problem right away and explained he needed to swap out a part and informed me that I should consider replacing in the near future because my unit is pretty old. I usually don't have time to leave review good or bad reviews for any company but this type of professional honest work is what people search for. I am extremely happy and satisfied and am such a happy customer.

Then our lord and savior Jesus (Nick) showed up and explained the issue in terms I would understand and that it was nothing to be worried about; only a minor repair.
He later returned back with a part and explained that everything would only cost about $325. HUGGEEE difference compared to $5000 for a brand new ac unit, that the other bums were offering!!

If you are a woman DO NOT call this place, I called them once and my brother was there to take care of the service call while I was at work. Everything went smoothly so when my second furnace went out I thought I knew who to call, but I was WRONG. On the coldest weekend of the season (02/06/21) Willie came out to "diagnose" my furnace, he told me;… the motor, ignitor switch and mother board was broken. Freedom heating and cooling has provided not only myself, but my friends & family with great service/installations. We all became recent homeowners and HVAC is very important to living comfortably. I should have left this review a few years ago, but it’s better late then never. I have trusted this company with being in my home unattended, even with my own keys. After they finished working, they were even nice enough to drive to my work and drop off the keys. I told them they could leave the keys in the mailbox but they insisted on giving them to me in person. This company goes above and beyond
