Services
The mission of Oasis Counseling for Women and Children is to improve the quality of life for vulnerable women, children and families by providing exceptional, professional mental health care in a safe and nurturing environment. Oasis is one of the few women's counseling centers in the state, providing services to women throughout the life span, from the very young to the very wise.
Call 205-933-0338 to speak with an Intake Counselor who will help you schedule services at Oasis. Oasis accepts private insurance and Medicaid for children. In addition, Oasis offers its services on a sliding-fee scale. Contact Kathryn Bowden or 205-933-0338 to make a gift that empowers women, children, and families to lead healthy lives, better care for their families, and contribute to a stronger community.
Our Junior Board is a wonderful way to make a tangible difference at Oasis and in our community. Junior Board members are between the ages of 21 - 39 and have a passionate interest in helping improve the lives of others. My father passed away unexpectedly. His loss was devastating, and dealing with the realities was difficult.
Through individual, couples and family counseling, Oasis helps women and families recover from depression and anxiety, heal from abuse and trauma, develop healthy relationships and coping styles, and meet the problems in their lives. The core counseling program helps people increase self-esteem, improve problem solving skills, learn to set goals for their future and successfully cope with the challenges in their lives.
If you're interested in DBT Services, give us a call at (205) 933-0338 and ask to talk to an intake counselor about our upcoming program. A counselor will call you to answer your questions about DBT treatment. You may choose to start individual counseling before groups begin, or sign up to receive updates on the program!

I was recommended to call this place but after calling all week about services they never return phone calls, even with voicemails left! I’ll find some other services.

I have had a great experience with Oasis. My therapist, Leah, is very comforting, kind and attentive. I've always had positive interactions with the office staff and I would definitely recommend.

My counselor was Elizabeth and I wanted someone to help me gather all my strength and fight back. She was able to peek deep inside me and could address the points I needed. It's been about 2yrs and I still remember everything she told me and I still practice them.

Awesome place. I didnt feel out of place or judged. I was able to open up and let things out and left with a smile on my face and feeling much better than I did.

Absolutely terrible experience! Counselor Elizabeth Gross fell hook, line and sinker for my daughter's completely false lies about me because my daughter was extremely angry at me for something I did to protect her. Ms. Gross did not even attempt to speak with me personally before she actually reported ME for something that was completely untrue then Elizabeth refused to even return my phone calls after I was completely cleared. I wanted to speak with her about continuing my daughter's counseling to hold her accountable for what she had done. Ms. Gross would not even give me the courtesy of returning

Completely disgusted by the way I was treated here. They are supposed to be “non profit,” but all they care about is money. My therapist retired without even telling me. I requested off work 2 weeks in advance to see another person. They “randomly” do a file check 30 MINUTES before an appointment in which I desperately needed help. Since I didn’t have the amount of money they wanted (I borrowed enough to get there from a friend), they cancelled my appointment and left me in tears and gave me no other options for who to call. If I had plenty of money to give them, I’m sure they would

I received excellent care at Oasis. I only went for a few sessions, but I was able to shake something I had been struggling with for almost a decade.

My young daughter has benefited immensely from counseling here and she looks forward to going all the time. They work with my low income so we can easily afford to come regularly.
