In 1968, Jim started in business by opening an APCO full-service filling station and hired his younger brother Dave, to help out. Soon after opening, Dave moved on and Jim hired Brian, a friend of the family, to take Dave's place. Jim's venture in doing basic car maintenance and selling Goodyear tires grew quickly.
Read the owner's manual! There is information there that can be very helpful in determining the maintenance needs of your vehicle. If you are operating your vehicle in rough conditions (towing, driving on unpaved roads, driving in extreme temperatures, etc.), you may want to have that maintenance check done more often.

Horrible service. Will not be back...
I originally brought my weedeater in to have it fixed. It took them over a month and a half to finally mess with it (by that time I had already gone and bought another from Maximum). They called me and essentially said that it was out of oil (I had changed 2 weeks before sending it in) and that it wasn't worth fixing because the part wasn't covered by warranty and would take a long time to fix. They wouldn't fix it (even though it was a part that should have been covered by warranty). A very unethical business. Save your time and the $35 payment to have them

These guys are very helpful. I brought my car in to have a tire repaired, that wasn't holding air. They didn't just help with that one tire. They checked all of them. Come to find out my tires (that looked good on the outside) were cracked on the inside wall, where it couldn't be seen. So, I could have gotten stranded at any moment. I was very thankful to have gotten their help. I do a lot of "middle of nowhere" traveling. Thanks to them, I didn't have to call for assistance.

I dropped off my car overnight because I work nights, they told me to leave it …. No key drop box. Was the first issue. Was supposed to get an alignment before my out of town trip. They did not call me to pick up my car until closing time. I was in a hurry about to go out of town I didn’t notice that they had put on the sheet that the dash lights were on already. There was no dash lights on prior to me leaving it there. When I was leaving I noticed 3 dash lights on I went right back and asked them what was going on. They insisted they were on prior to service I told them this was NOT true.

Went in to Purchase Honda mower and got what I needed. The Staff was very friendly and knowlagable of there products. They registered my warranty so I wouldn't have to and went through the break in procedure of the new mower. I would have never got that kind of service at the big box Home improvement stores. My visit ended with picking my mower up at the back of the building from the mechanic/warehouse Employee who as well had great customer service skills. These guys hit a home run with me and looking forward to future visits for purchases of items for yearly maintenance of mower!

This is simple. My Echo blower was at Jim's for 37 days. It was never looked at. I called 3 times to ask about it EACH time I was told they would likely get to it "next week". I finally picked it up still not working. Here is a possible solution: hire more help. Success is not having lots of business. Success is DOING lots of business. Btw: a sincere apology would have gone a long way.

Took a lawn mower in to get fixed, under warranty. They didn't test it to see if it started, they immediately started working on it (per the guy on the phone) . Apparently nothing was wrong with it, or something was wrong with it but they don't know what... that story changes depending on how nasty the manager (Brad) decides to get. He kept telling me that he had explained everything to me, he had literally said nothing of importance. I asked "what specifically was wrong with it?". Brad kept explaining to me what he did. Horrible customer service. I will not be back. All over a $40 second repair bill that should have been fixed the first time. They said the carburetor on my weed eater needed re adjusted after I used the repaired trimmer 3 times. They changed the gas when I already had fresh gas in it. They obviously didn't repair it correctly in the first place. Oh well. Time to go somewhere else for service and the purchase of new equipment in the future. Word of mouth travels fast. Terrible service! I was told it would be $59 for a tune up for my lawnmower and that they would need 2 weeks. The mower was running really rough even though it was only 2 years old. Went to pick it up and they charged $89 - "the extra was for parts". Those parts were a filter, gas, stabilizer and sharpening blades. All things they knew they would do in the first place so very deceptive! Took the mower home and it ran just as rough as when I brought it to them. I'm from out of town in which my rental car's tire pressure light was flashing low PSI. I stopped at Jim's to see if he could put air in my tires. It was 5:45pm and they close at 6pm. He said, "I'm sorry, we are closing soon and I cannot help you." I told him I was feeling unsafe and it shouldn't take long. He still declined. I said "wow" and walked out. Luckily, Firestone was just down the street and manager was very nice and helped me without hesitation.

I took a brand new chainsaw in to a ask what was wrong since it would not start. I should have been leery when they stated that I needed to pay 35 dollars up front before they could even talk to me. The 35 dollars would be refunded if it was a warranty item. (Brand New!) I paid the 35.00. I stopped in 2 weeks later to check on the status of my chainsaw (Husquavarna 450), they had not even looked at it yet. They did pull it up to the workshop and they pulled the cord a few times and it started. They gave it back to me and said it was flooded. Guess what not a warranty item and they kept the 35.00

Recently stopped by to look at a used lawn mower. Jim's had very obviously not spent any time doing even basic maintenance to the mower - when a dealer is selling something it's a simple expectation that there is some effort put into making sure the machine is brought up to a maintained condition. Just carefully review anything coming off the floor that may have been demoed for another customer. I had a shaft fail (cladding coming off) in my Stihl Kombi Edger attachment. Just a couple months old I think. I am very meticulous about seating my Kombi motor and attachments as this system was a very premium purchase for me. But Parts guy said the failure only comes from poor seating habits, pointing out wear marks that I find later were just grease marks from when I was struggling to attach the edger in the first place.
