Latchis Hotel
The Latchis Hotel located in downtown Brattleboro offers all the charms of a Vermont lodging experience with access to a vibrant community. Staying in our 81 year old quirky Art Deco building gives you a chance to travel back in time. From our terrazzo stairwells and stone corridors to the vintage radiators and bathroom fixtures, you'll find a touch of history in every corner of The Latchis Hotel.

The Latchis Hotel and Theatre first opened in 1938, when the "Greco Deco" vision of the Latchis family was finally realized. Built by four brothers in honor of their father Demetrius, an immigrant from Greece, The Latchis Hotel's Art Deco design was conceived with grandeur in mind to equal the architectural marvels of their father's home country.

We arrived on a Wednesday to a nice person at the front desk, had trouble finding where the parking was but, eventually found it. the hotels parking is extremely tight and is an accident waiting to happen, the lobby looks somewhat modern and clean but as we got to our room 208 we started to realize how outdated the entire room was the red rug was stained and outdated the purple walls are all scratched up and there were hardly any outlets in the room the windows were dirty and even cracked. The room was extremely hot and we tried to turn the radiator off but it would not work so we ended up with

Upon arrival we were greeted by 2 very nice and funny men at the check in counter. The lobby was gorgeous. We head to our room. The room was very out dated, but cute. Bed was comfortable. The walls though, paper thin. The man in the room next to us coughing up a lung since 2 am and talking extremely loud. No sleeping in on this one night away was a little disappointing

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Latchis Hotel! One star was taken off because the bed was quite hard, but I had seen reviews that mentioned this and I believe they’re working to get mattresses (supply chain issues). Otherwise, we very much enjoyed our stay!
As parents of a toddler who cannot yet be vaccinated, we really appreciated the COVID precautions. Proof of vaccination was requested at check-in and masks were required in all public areas. It felt very safe!
The rooms were clean. The carpet had some stains and could definitely use some updating, but it didn’t feel dirty and all

Ended up canceling my reservation because I could not reach them by phone and never received a return call from my voicemail. I would have thought since they have time to leave snarky comments on google, maybe I will finally respond.
Some people have commented saying they require vaccinations in order to stay, but it doesn't outline their strict covid policies online. Will a picture work or is "the papers" needed? Will medical exemptions be made? Does the whole group have to be vaccinated?
I don't know since I never heard back. Wonder if that housekeeper who has been putting hard pillows on the

Stayed in Rm 317, a quirky room in its own hallway with only one other room. It was very quiet when we were here. The record player and records in the room was a cool touch. The colors in the room and hallway were nice. The bathroom was small, but kept the look and feel of the original building. The Art Deco building was very cool and had a lot of neat features. The parking lot behind the hotel was convenient. Saw a movie in the cool theater. Good location downtown and walking distance to everything. Unfortunately, many restaurants are closed on Mondays when we were here, so we did not take advantage

This hotel is OK. We called 2 hours before check in and didn't have available early check in so we had to walk around for 2 hours. The bathroom was leaking, we had to put towels all over the floor, the bed is not very comfortable, and trying to do the check out there was no one in the counter and we waited 20 mins, no one came so we left the key there. I don't think we will be staying again

I wish i can give more stars, the location was amazing&parking. But we haven't sleep the whole night because of the noise, you can hear people from the other room, banging doors from the outside, cant find the a/c controller. I dont know whats in the bed when you move it makes some crazy noise :) But thank you and stay safe.

I was a guest at the Latchis Hotel, located in Brattleboro VT, spending at least a few nights there, here are the pros and cons of this hotel
Pros: it has a good window view, it is located directly in town so you don’t have to walk or drive a far distance, and has a theatre and is decently priced for a stay.
Cons: when I got there, I noticed that the bathroom looked a little out-dated, and hasn’t been renovated or remodeled yet. Another thing I have noticed with the hotel is that the carpet hasn’t been replaced in a really long time either.
And a couple of more problems with this hotel

Great downtown hotel! I called the night of my stay and got an excellent rate. The front desk manager was very friendly and accommodating.
The lobby is really nice, as is the overall interior - the art deco style really sets this place apart from all the chain hotels. My room was great - extremely spacious, nice bathroom, and best of all it had a functioning record player with a small collection of records.
Being able to walk to everything downtown is key. I highly recommend staying here (and at any similar, independent hotel in any city) over staying at a chain hotel.
