Services
At DSD, we take pride in all of our dance programs and treat our students and their families with the respect that they deserve. Our recreational, specialty session, parks and recreation, as well as our company program dancers are all equally as important to our success. We are experts in teaching dance technique and masters at dance performance.

We accept new students throughout our entire dance season for classes that have openings. Private/small group lessons are available for new students, families and special events.

I love this studio so much, i have never felt more welcomed from combo classes to advanced classes. I highly recommend this studio to any age who would like to start dancing. The staff here are extraordinary and know how to work well with kids. And this studio is just around the corner from my house! The dance competitions, and dance recitals are very professional and are the end of the year for all of our hard work throughout the year. i love desert star. ❤️ . - one of the students. 😽

Truly a "Home Away From Home " - Ms. Ann and the entire team at DSD is incredibly talented, professional, kind, and courteous. The dance studio is warm, inviting, and has a very comfortable atmosphere. The other families are all very nice and the studio is intimate with a warm family feel - perfect for dancers and their families.

Our eldest is taking hip hop and her instructor is amazing you can tell the kids are enjoying it as much as he is ! And they are learning too !

Desert Star Dance has been awesome for my daughter Dakota. She has been a dance student there for a year now. We love that once a year she gets to try out new classes and see if a new dance style appeals to her. For now, she absolutely loves hip hop and every instructor she has had is fun and upbeat and does an excellent job with the kids. She also really enjoyed the recital in June. It was a great production and it allows you to see the range of talented dancers at Desert Star Desert.

The best dance studio around Phoenix, AZ! Ann is the most passionate teacher I've been ever blessed to learn from, and has instilled so much of that passion into me for more than just dance. This is an excellent dance studio. My older daughter has been a dancer here for over a year now and my 2nd daughter just started July 2019. They love to dance and they are always excited to see the other dancer. The staff is very friendly and takes the time to get to know your daughter as a dance student. They are very positive and encouraging! There are a variety of classes for whatever level you may be at. There are also a variety of class times so it can fit your schedule any day during the week. The price for classes is very fair and I can definitely appreciate the value! This is a great dance studio! My daughter has been going since January 2019 and went from one class per week to two. The teachers are all very qualified, great with kids, and professional. The recitals are top notch productions. My daughter has really progressed with her dance skills in her short time attending. We absolutely love DSD and recommend it to all of our friends!

My daughter is 8 and she is in the dance class twice a week for belle combo and she loves both teachers and enjoy the classes very much. I was very impressed the show she performed on Christmas program and appreciated that Ann puts a lot effort to make sure students love dancing and build up confidence not just about wining the contest. I certainly see the outcome while she danced on the the Ester Sunday program at the church. I am very happy with the classes and service DSD provides and strongly recommend it.

We are very happy to have found this dance studio. The teachers are very friendly and knowledgeable about dance. After performing and growing up with dance in my childhood for over 10 years it was important for us to find a dance home for our daughter. She is almost 4 and in the tot's combo class and tumbling. The facility is clean, I love that there are couches and tables to sit at and even a kitchen for students to eat and do homework while at dance. I wish I had this growing up. I would get home at between 9-10pm and then eat dinner. The location is convenient, and I look forward to watching

We are new to Desert Start Dance this year and my daughter is loving it! She is getting top notch instruction from her regular dance teachers to the special guest choreographers they bring in. The instructors are very knowledgeable and the technical instruction that my daughter is getting is some of the best she has ever received. The staff is very friendly and helpful as well. This is a nice group of dancers and parents- something that is very important to me. The dance team has really made her feel welcome!

My daughter has been in this dance school for several months and it is the best decision we've ever made. All of the teachers are great with the children. The discipline, the structure, the staff are all reasons why we continue to be a part of this studio. The director Ms. Ann is a strong, kind woman and really knows how to deal with children of all ages. Ann is THE BEST teacher in the valley!!! Her passion, expertise, knowledge really comes thru clearly. I've taken my daughter to other studios in Chandler/Gilbert. They don't even come close! They are small time amateurs in this business compared to Ann! I highly recommend taking your child to her! You won't be disappointed!

My daughter is in Miss Ann's Tuesday night combo class and she loves it. She has so much fun and never wants to miss a class. She's making some good friends, and her self-esteem is improving with each class. I'm so glad I switched her from her previous dance studio. They're currently preparing for a recital in December, and we can't wait! The staff is always so friendly and welcoming. I love that there are 3 different areas to wait for the kids to let out of class.

My 11 year old daughter started at Desert Star Dance this summer with their "Sampler" that was an affordable way for her to go to a number of classes and figure out what she liked. She ended up signing up for Ballet and Lyrical. We have been very pleased with her experience at Desert Star Dance and look forward to DSD helping our daughter learn more and get the most of her dance experience

My son has been dancing at Desert Star for over 4 years now and it has been one of the best decisions we ever made. He gets amazing confidence building there, made friends for a lifetime, and has truly become an awesome dancer. The staff are very helpful and treat my son like family.

Love this dance studio. My girls have been going here for a few years now. Took a break last season and when we came back I was excited to see they moved to their current location (much bigger space). There's lots of room to sit and wait or watch your kids get their dance on. When we came to register for the year, they recognized my girls and were happy to see them again. They just love their teachers. I was contemplating trying out another studio nearer to my house but I'm glad we didn't. I don't mind the drive because my girls love it here. Plus they put on awesome recitals

We've been a part of the Desert Star Dance family for 6 years and we love it! Ann keeps everything age-appropriate which is not the case in most other studios. The instructors are awesome and are very encouraging. They get the most out of the kids while keeping it fun.
The new facility is WONDERFUL! The space is fabulous and the couches are comfortable! :) The front office staff is super friendly and are always willing to help you with whatever you need. Whether you are a once-a-weeker or a company kid, everyone is treated the same. I am very happy that we are a part of such an awesome

Daughter loves it. It keeps her from playing games and watching TV. Staff is very friendly. The only negative thing is the Parking Lot. It can be very hectic. People seem to think it is a school zone there when they drop off there kids. I recently almost ran over a little girl running around a car that just stopped in the middle of the driveway of the parking lot to get to her dance class. I then received a tongue lashing from a Grandmother who told me there was Dance School there. That there is. There is also a restaurant that serves alcohol in the same parking lot, Safeway sells Alcohol

In a world of "Crazy Dance Mom Drama" and inappropriate attire, music and choreography for kids - DSD is a breath of fresh air.
