Whittier Adult Health Day Care Center

Since 1998 Whittier Adult Day Health Care Center has been proudly serving frail and disabled adults (18 & Over) by providing services to help maintain independence and well-being. Our Goal is to restore and maintain each participant's optimal capacity for self-care, independence and self-advocacy to prevent unnecessary hospitalization.

Shortly after admission, the interdisciplinary care team (ICT) will meet with participants and develop a plan of care. Each Discipline (Nursing, Physical, Speech & Occupational Therapy, Activities Coordinator, Program Director and Social Services) of the ICT reviews the participant's history and asks questions to make sure we develop a plan of care that meets individual needs.

Just one glance at our Activities Calendar and you will know you're in for something fun and informative. Once you are admitted, we review your interests, what you like to do at home, and assess your activity level. Then we custom-tailor a program (either in a group or individually) to suit your needs.

Our services are covered under Medi-Cal Manage Care benefits and are provided at no cost to participants. We are currently contracted with all major manage care plans in Los Angeles and Orange County. We also accept private pay with a sliding fee scale based on days of attendance.

Once our care plan team reviews a participant's history and has a current History and Physical (not older than 3 months), Tuberculosis test (not older the 1 year) and a list of current medications a recommendation is made to the manage care plan for the number of days a participant is to attend during a week.Most plans authorize 2 to 5 days a week depending on history and participant needs.
