Services
AC & R Services is your number one source for all your Ductless, Solar and Furnace needs in the Ukiah area. Our Goals are: A Reputation for the BEST SERVICE, A Reputation for the BEST EMPLOYEES and GET BETTER EVERY DAY. AC&R Service Heating & Cooling Inc. was established in 1960 by George Solomon as Ukiah Air Conditioning and Refrigeration and later changed to Ukiah AC&R Service.
You can get service when you need it because of our focus on service instead of the easier new construction. In order to make certain that we have technicians available to meet your service needs when you need them, AC&R Service Heating & Cooling, Inc. focuses on repair services and replacing equipment that breaks down rather than spreading itself too thin and getting involved in new construction.
Study up - Find out about license and insurance requirements for contractors in your state. And before you call a contractor, know the model of your current system and its maintenance history. Also, make note of any uncomfortable rooms. This will help potential contractors better understand your heating needs.
Most air conditioners have their capacity rated in BTUs, or British Thermal Units. A BTU is, generally, the amount of heat required to raise the temperature of one pound of water one degree F. Specifically, a BTU is 1,055 joules, but the first definition is easier to understand in real-life terms. One "ton", in heating and cooling terms, is 12,000 BTUs.
Maintain your equipment to prevent future problems and unwanted costs. Keep your cooling and heating system at peak performance by having a contractor do annual pre-season check-ups. Contractors get busy once summer and winter come, so it's best to check the cooling system in the spring and the heating system in the fall.

Scam Alert! I had their office call me with some ridiculous pricing for a replacement part and then was told it would be more cost effective replace the whole furnace. I priced out the part for a new valve as well as a new furnace, AC & R is grossly inflating the cost. PG & E came out and inspected the furnace and found nothing wrong with the furnace, the only issue was that the furnace needed it's reset button pushed.
So basically this was a $125.00 lesson to avoid this company and call
PG & E first
*sadly I have to leave a star, if I could I wouldn't leave any

The phone etiquette of the owner and office staff was unbelievable. So my kids dad passed and I was looking to have my daughters HVAC maintenance done(a funeral and covid is a big financial burden for a young adult) and I know its a better deal to get a maintenance plan. Office said tech would have that when he came to do the maintenance. Neither the tech when he was on site nor the office had the correct info said id get it soon. Instead I got a bill for 180.00 no maintenance plan options listed so I phoned in lady says shes sorry and she'll get it out to me. Couple weeks go by and I Called again

Our heating unit wouldn't turn on, so they replaced the thermostat for $175. Had to call them out about a week later for the same problem. They rebuilt a part, but reinstalled it incorrectly and had to come out a fourth time. They blamed a tree branch that was a few feet away, but if that had been the case, they would have had to cut it to make the repair. All in all, they came out five times and my husband still had to rig it in place in the end because some wiring should have been strung through a hole, but wasn't installed properly. It ended up costing around $750 and over two months of them
