Services
On behalf of all of our providers, staff and myself, I would like to thank you for taking the time to see what Pocahontas Community Hospital is all about. We are proud to serve the residents of Pocahontas County. Our facility is small enough to provide personalized, individual care and big enough to provide state-of-the-art, comprehensive care as well.
Laboratory includes general testing, drug screening for medical, pre-employment, and DOT including saliva alcohol. Mental Health including Psychiatric and Psychological evaluations, counseling and psychotherapy, medication management and consultation services. Radiology including bone density, ultrasound, general radiology, CT scan, mammography, MRI, and nuclear medicine imaging.
The main purpose of the organization is to assist the hospital, by our fundraising efforts, in purchasing some of the needed medical equipment which is necessary for the well-being of our patients. The Auxiliary currently has a membership of 176 dedicated members. Our main fundraising event is our Annual Belgium Waffle Breakfast held in February and the Masquerade Jewelry Party.

Dr. Boevers attended Cornell College in Mount Vernon, IA and later graduated from the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences, Des Moines, IA. Dr. Boevers completed her residency at Broadlawns Medical Center in Des Moines. She enjoys spending time with her husband and family in her free time.

The doctor that was on call lied to us twice, and when we confronted this, she returned with a second doctor, who then made accusations and informed us on what was going to take place. Which we also found out was not the truth as well. The hospital's other staff as in the desk clerks and nurse were very kind and caring. It is only because of those people I even considered giving more than 1 star.
