Our mission is to provide full scope medical, refractive, and surgical care to patients of all ages, utilizing advanced technologies in a welcoming and modern medical setting. Doctors Amy Freed, Chris Freed, and Chad Dockter formed a partnership and opened their first practice in Chaska. The doctors worked with all age groups and paid close attention to individual eye care needs.
The year 2007 was a time of growth and excitement for Southwest Eye Care. Doctors Freed, Freed and Dockter expanded their practice into Glencoe; transitioning Family Eye Center to Southwest Eye Care. A month later the Norwood Young America practice was added to the family. Again in 2012-2013, Southwest Eye Care experienced more growth.

I recently went to Southwest Eye Care in Minnetonka for my annual tune-up. Dr. Chris Freed and the warm and professional staff made me feel comfortable and safe during these trying times. Dr. Freed gave me a thorough exam and discussed current and future eye health. I ordered new glasses and frames and also had the lenses updated in my prescription sunglasses. I have totally relied on the recommendations of the staff when choosing frames, as I am lacking in any fashion sense. I always receive rave reviews from friends and family on my excellent choices. This'll be our little secret, SWEC, okay

Worest experience ever!!! This clinic uses excuses and lies to make customers pay more money.
I made an appointment for eye exams, which costs about $127. They required to make a payment before doing exams, so I paid in advance. Then I met with a doctor. He said I have dry eyes so he couldn’t do eye exams for me that day. He moved my eye exams to one week later and the front desk staff told me they could keep my today’s payment and move it to next time. So I agreed. However, when I went there today, they told me I still need to pay another $127 for last time’s office visit. What?? I made

Such a wonderful experience. Glad I don't take my vision seriously because if I did I would have been disappointed. The doctors there are excellent. But if you want to actually order eye glasses, you gotta have some patience. When I was in jail, I had to wait only a few weeks for my new glasses paid for by the tax payers. Thanks tax payers. At SEC, I get to wait 2-3 months. Good thing I don't need glasses to drive to see my parol officer or to work release job at Subway. If you are not as flexible as I am, I recommend committing a felony of your choice and have the jail optometrist

I came here because my eyes were red and they prescribed me drops.. they told me to come back the next week to see if it’s working. It worked, but I still laugh at these “follow up” visits. Because doctors literally will do anything for money. So I paid 37 dollars to come all the way over there, in a pandemic and say “look my eyes are not red anymore.” Scammers. Thanks for the prescription. Never coming back again though.

With a history of dry eyes and convergence insufficiency, I'm a challenging patient when it comes to filling a glasses prescription. The staff at Southwest has been extremely accommodating through the entire process, and has stood by its warranty promise with exchanges. I recommend this clinic without reservation.

This place is the best eye care place I have been to. I've had a few bad experiences at my previous eye care place. Decided to switch to SW Eye Care in Norwood. What a nice change! The staff is all amazing and so kind!! They even went the extra leg work to do all the paperwork for me so I could get a $100 rebate through my vision insurance. Will def be returning and recommending them to everyone :)
