It's human to take your health for granted. When you're young and carefree, it's easy to believe that you'll feel vibrant and strong forever. Unfortunately, things break down when you neglect them -- your teeth and gums included. Dental plaque can infect your gums and the sulcus, the v-shaped crevice just below the gum line.
How do you spell relief? A root canal can help get you out of pain and can prevent the need for a tooth extraction. For the most part, root canals are successful -- and your dental treatment may last a lifetime. But for the five percent of root canals that don't heal, endodontic retreatment is often necessary to save the tooth.
