We are an expert team of stylists and colorists ready to give you the look and hair that you deserve. Through continuing education and lasting client relationships, our team is able to provide you with outstanding hair and exceptional service. Our artists are highly sought after educators and we travel to salons around the country sharing our inspiration and philosophy that excellence in hair artistry takes a thoughtful, disciplined approach.
Our extension specialists proudly use Great Lengths, Bellami, and Cinderella Hair products. All clients booked for hair extension install or maintenance must either come in with clean, blown out hair or choose to have the service performed at the salon at an additional charge. Salon blowouts must be booked prior to appointment.

CANCELATION POLICY: Please understand when appointments are canceled without 48 hours notice, we miss the opportunity to fill in that appointment time, and our waiting list clients miss the opportunity to receive services. Lorraine is the co-owner and color director of the Gerber Salon. She has studied all over the world with leading educators, where she has mastered the most innovative, cutting-edge techniques. Her career has spanned more than thirty years, and began under the tutelage of some of the region's most influential stylists and salon owners.

I cannot say enough good things about Gerber Salon! The salon is always clean and well maintained. The front desk staff goes above and beyond with making sure your every need is met, while being extremely friendly and making you feel right at home. The stylists are absolutely AMAZING! Chelsea is so knowledgeable, really takes time to understand what I want with my hair, gives suggestions without being pushy, and always explains what products she's using. And the BLOW OUT Y'ALL - make sure you make some plans for after your appointment because you are going to be looking GOOOOOODDD!

Place is 10/10. They are taking covid precautions very seriously. Temp checks at the door. Quick questionnaire about if you have been out of the country or if you have been exposed to anyone recently. Friendly and very knowledgeable receptionist. Zoee who washed my hair was great. At first I was skeptical because i have heard they mainly only do women’s hair cuts but boy was I wrong... I am not only going to go back because the hair cut was great, i am going back to hang out with the owner Bob. He made me feel like I have been coming to him for 15 years. Definitely not just a woman’s hair salon

I have been a customer here for over 15 years and all the stylists are excellent. But I have experienced a few incidents that have caused me to take my business elsewhere. Just recently I had a family emergency at home involving one of my children. The salon has a 24 hour cancellation policy, which is understandable.
I would need to cancel my appointment set for the following day in order to see our therapist. The appointment was in the morning but it was early afternoon when i called to cancel. I knew I had missed the cut off by a couple of hours but I had never canceled on short notice before

Gerber Salon is extremely unprofessional and I would not recommend going here. The receptionist is very rude. They provided conflicting information about my appointment and lied to me about the appointment confirmation policy (they never told me that it was required to call back to confirm my appointment). The salon canceled my consultation for no reason other than for another client appointment. Then they told me they feel another salon may be a better fit for me. For a business that has never met me and only spoke to me on the phone they sure do know how to turn away new business. My experience

First time here today. Recommend to me by a friend who is a long term customer. I loved everything about the salon from greeting to goodbye. Reception area is relaxing and has an area to get water, wonderful variety of teas, coffee and snacks. The hair washing station is a relaxing recliner chair where you put your feet up. Massage type shampoo and conditioning. Then onto the hair stations that are very nicely decorated and very clean. Oversized floor to ceiling mirrors at each station. I have curly hair and had my hair styled and cut by Erica. She is Ouidad certified. Excellent cut

Daniella is really sweet and did exactly what I wanted with my hair color!
The salon overall is highly professional and accommodating. You can tell they genuinely enjoy working with each other, it's a pleasant environment. I've been to some salons where there is obvious tension among the girls, not this place.
Most importantly to me, they don't push services and products on you that you aren't interested in!

First I must say the atmosphere and staff are very friendly. They offer you water, wine, etc and make you feel comfortable while you wait.
The problem for me came a week after I got my balayage. Paying close to $400, with tip included for a cut and a balayage , I did not expect to go back a week later because the color lifted/faded/washed out or whatever the right term is. They did offer a complementary glaze to fix the problem but instead of getting the color and look I first got and loved it turned into a dull brown. Now a week later the color has faded/lifted/washed out again and is another

I am SO happy I decided to come to Gerber! I recently moved back to the area and was in need of a new salon. It was so easy to make an appointment and Karen was so nice on the phone. I could hear she was very busy in the background but she was friendly and didn't rush me. The salon itself is gorgeous and clean and charming as hell-- I love that beautiful old building! I walked in the wrong door (a rookie mistake) and right into the salon floor. Everyone said hi and welcomed me and didn't make me feel like a loser. I love getting my hair done here. Beautiful atmosphere inside an old Victorian house. Each person here is nicer than the next. Bob is the sweetest man in the world & his staff always makes you feel wonderful! I get my hair cut by Emma who is amazing, and recently went to Aniella for a trim, who is also amazing! You can't go wrong getting your services done here, you will look and feel beautiful!

I see Bob for my cut and he is so pleasant. I have been going for the past 10 years here. Though I switched my hair dressers a few times throughout those years everyone still says, hi to me and asks me how I'm doing. That makes me as a customer feel great. There is no animosity. They are truly a great staff!

First of all Chelsea is one of the most talented hair artists I have ever had do my hair. I will give her 5 stars. The 2 stars is because of the lack of appointments for her, you will wait months to get an appointment with her and may only be able to get color and no cut or vice versa. They will offer you an appointment with another stylist but if you go there for Chelsea why would you want to go to someone else? They need to put a freeze on new clients, so that existing clients are able to come in. I stopped coming to this salon for that reason.

I was very excited about trying Gerber Salon since I had heard so many good things about it. Sadly I was so disappointed. I had two different girls taking care of me for some reason. One did color and one did my blow out and of course there was the shampoo girl. After spending close to $200 (plus tips for 3 girls) on a root touch up and some kind of conditioning, I am sorry to say that I saw quite a lot of gray in my scalp two days later! I feel burned.

I lived at the Jersey shore for 22 years. I was transferred to Los Angeles a year ago and sadly had to switch salons. After 2 failed salons here, my hair began to fall out. I flew back to NJ and Robert Gerber Salon and to my regular ladies, Lauren for color and Jess for the cut. My hair thanked me and everyone said "Your hair never looked better"!!!
I do fly for an airline so the ticket was free but taking time off to fly there and drive an hour to the salon from the airport isn't easy. It is worth it though. Never again will I let anyone but Lauren and Jess at Robert Gerber
