Where do I begin!!! Sooo, I was ecstatic to find a BLACK owned salon close to me that I could walk there if wanted to (I'm sure I'd have to Uber home so as not to wreck my style sweating and what not walking back home! LOL). I first emailed Teresa the owner and she informed me that for the style I wanted (crotchet) India is the stylist that does them. I was on my way home from work one day and decided to stop in and as luck would have it, met India. Told her what I wanted done and she assured me no problem. I made an appointment and today got my hair done. India was awesome!! She started

She was late and took over 5 hours for a simple silk press. I asked for a trim and got a short choppy mess. My hair is DESTROYED. I booked an appointment for braids the next day. I have to let this terrible cut grow out.
I read so many great reviews about Teresa, I assumed I’d be seeing her. Unfortunately, I did not and I left the salon in tears.

I talked to Teresa and I feel so much better. She is an amazing stylist and is trying to grow her business. To be clear, Teresa didn't do my hair. I wish she did. I'm seriously considering have her do my hair soon. She was was honest, transparent, and warm -- everything I look for in a stylist. I was very impressed with her.

Just wanted to update my previous review because 1208 Beauty Bar is now located in Elkridge, MD off Route 1. I should have been done this update but better late than never! I am still a satisfied customer even though I am no longer in the area. I will continue to recommend friends and former colleagues when they ask for recommendations. The attached pictures is of what I asked for vs what I got...NAILED IT!!! My puppy not to happy tho.

Notably, the stylists are very conscious of time management and schedule accordingly, so that no client has to wait an unreasonable amount of time for service. Everyone was friendly, professional, and knowledgeable.

Love, love, love Teresa....she has been my stylist for approximately 8 years. She is ON TIME and RELIABLE. Also, professional, laid back and I always ❤️ my hair. I am super picky and really enjoy having Teresa as my hairstylist.

Came here last second- thank God they were able to take me and my daughter- as we needed hair done for my wedding the next day. This was a very welcoming salon with skilled stylists. I loved that this is a full service salon, great energy and music. And me and my daughter looked amazing! Thank you lovely ladies!

I haven't had my natural hair straightened in a few years. Teresa was very professional and made me feel really comfortable. I was satisfied with her work

So, I have trust issues when it comes to trying new people with my hair, but this was an emergency situation! I had done 6 months worth of damage to my hair during this pandemic (pre, during and post braids), my regular stylist wasn't available and I needed H-E-L-P!

After searching the internet and reading reviews, I made the decision to reach out to Theresa at 1208 Beauty Bar. She responded to my internet inquiry right away, invited me to make an appointment for the next day and even recommended a service.

This was my first time visiting this salon and it won't be my last. I went for a silk press and Teresa did an awesome job on my hair. I felt like she cared about my hair and me. I love the fact that she allows enough time for each appointment...there was no wait! I highly recommend this salon.

My service was amazing. I called Monday morning about 1030, I was able to be seen at 12 for a silk press and trim for $95. I notice the prices on 1209 beauty bar and Annointed Touch don't match so be careful with that. Overall she was professional and dealt with my natural hair very well (didn't overpress or burn the hair). Definitely recommend and will be back!!!

I found this gem via yelp thanks to reviews! I messaged Teresa about getting my hair done and she responded within an hour, maybe even 30 mins!
So boom, we set an appointment for 2:30pm.
I arrived and Teresa has excellent customer service! She kept the conversation going the whole time, meaning there was so silence or awkwardness. She has great conversation. She also helped me decide between perm rods or flexis. She gave great advice on what complimented my hair better and of course I took it. She just works efficiently and her time is well managed. Came here on a 911 situation New Year's Eve day. I
had some threads pop on a brand new weave. Being from out of town I had to cold call around over and over looking for someone to help me. I kept getting denied because no one wanted to "work on other people's work" last minute, and on a holiday at that. But at last I found this place & they agreed to do it. On arrival I was seen almost immediately and the stylist made quick work of repairing my weave. It was a cute & clean salon

I wanted a fresh new hair style and I decided to look on yelp for a place that would help me. This was the first one that popped up and was 5 minutes from my apartment.

I sent Teresa a messenge and she respond back within minutes. She was able to fit me in the next day at 730AM. I did not know the shop opened later and this time was too early. I got there and she had another client I felt bad, but she made it work out.

I loved my hair cut, it made me look my age and plenty of people complimented me on it. I will be making another appointment here.

I am new to laurel and many of the hair places around here I've noticed are expensive for full weaves so I did some research and some yelp review reading and came across 1208 Beauty Bar and tried there for the first time.

I am very impressed with how Teresa (my hair stylist) put in my full weave with a lace closure. I brought my own hair and paid 175 in total. I loved how she bleached my closure to make the lace part look more transparent. She also put a net on my head before weaving my hair in which helps prevent unneeded hair lost. I was searching for a salon/stylist to install my wet and wavy weave and came across this salon. I called and got same day service! Teresa did a great job and she's very friendly with her customers. I highly recommend her for full weave installs and natural hair care.

I was in a bind being that I needed to get my hair done and most salons are closed on Monday. 1208 Beauty Bar is not closed on Mondays plus since they also had great reviews on Yelp I decided to try them. It was 6pm and Teresa was fine with me coming to get my hair done. I was so grateful! Teresa is so nice and we had great conversation. She gave me a great hair massage and I loved the shampoo she used. I had a silk press done and loved the way my hair came out! I will definitely be going back to Teresa.
