J Bookwalter Winery
J. Bookwalter is one of the most recognized boutique wineries in the Pacific Northwest, relying on meticulous winemaking, exceptional vineyards and a decades-long commitment to excellence to produce some of the world's finest wines. Our story is one of deep family roots in Washington State's exciting wine industry and a family heritage in viticulture and winemaking in the Columbia Basin.

We invite you to enjoy the benefits and privileges of the Book Club with more customization and wine purchase options. You will receive invitations to special events, exclusive wine tastings, and member parties. In addition, you will receive discounts on wine and food at our restaurant Fiction and on wine purchased from our tasting rooms and website.
Services
Wine is a heavy, fragile, and federally regulated product that can be costly to ship. During extreme weather months, we will not be using ground shipping, unless you are located in the Pacific Northwest. We want to protect the wine from heat or cold damage to ensure you receive a pristine product. Once temperatures regulate, we will resume regular ground shipping.
You will look forward to receiving the benefit of first access to our vintage releases and member-only releases. Included in your benefits, you will receive invitations to special events, exclusive tastings, flat-rate shipping on allocations, and member-only parties. In addition, you will receive incentives on wine and food at our restaurant, Fiction @ J. Bookwalter Winery, and wine purchased from our tasting rooms and website.
Our Richland Tasting Room is in the heart of Wine Country and is where our production facility is located. Woodinville is the perfect urban tasting setting with a large patio and lots of outdoor seating. Upcoming public events and private Book Club events are always a great way to connect with our winemaking team and restaurant team.
Our main Tasting Room and Winemaking facility are located in the heart of Tri-Cities wine country in Richland, WA. There are stunning views and exemplary service, which are complemented by a cellar boasting the finest collection of wines. We are currently only offering wine tasting experiences at our new Richland Tasting Room and are not serving food.
The Woodinville Tasting Studio is the perfect urban tasting room that features J. Bookwalter Wines. Our wines showcase unique Washinton terroir and refined winemaking processes. We recently gave the Studio a new look with more seating options. The Studio has plenty of patio space for you and your friends.

Their drinks are spirit forward. They have a seasonal menu. Their fries were overcooked but their burger was great and our appetizer was also done well. My friend and I still had some privacy, the tables weren't positioned too close together which was great for a Friday night out, catching up with a friend.

I went here for my birthday and had a really good time. Ordered a bottle of Double Plot Chardonnay. I highly recommend that wine. We also got their charcuterie board and it was amazing. For my entrée I got their waygu steak. It was delicious. I will definitely be coming again. Service was great too. Prices are a bit high but not at all surprising for what you get.

Tried out the new tasting room. $25 tasting felt pretty steep for the 5 very small pours & minimal extras with relatively spendy bottles. I'll be back to try the main restaurant someday, but will probably stick to other places for tastings.

Came here for an early dinner on a Saturday night and was seated right away. The service was great but the food was even better. Highly recommend the burrata for an appetizer! Also ordered the French onion soup and a burger. This is easily the best restaurant we have been to in the area!

Such a scam! Pay $25 for a tasting that is 5 dif wines and you literally get a sip! Spent $50 and didn't even have a glass full! Place was dead too, and the other two wineries next-door were both packed... I guess that explains it

My parents and I stopped by for a drink before going home after dinner. They ordered a bottle of wine and we just sat outside to chill a bit. We had a gift card for the place and wanted to use it. After hanging out for maybe an hour at most, I gave my gift card and told our server to run it. Server asked if I wanted to give him a debit card to cover the rest and I told him that GC would probably be enough to cover. He comes back with a receipt and tells us there is 83 cents on it and he'll take care of it and walks off. My mom tried to call him and he ignored her and walked off to the next

This actually is one of my favorite restaurants in Tricities. Their food is usually very good. They are pretty pricey on their menu items, bower pretty typical for most wineries in the area. Service is polite and attentive. It is a good idea to get a reservation at peak times or you may not get a table. Their wines are okay, not my favorite, but the food usually makes up for it. Yesterday the food wasn't as good, but I'm not sure why. I had the steelhead arugula salad and the flavor was "off" and the tomato over cooked. My friend's halibut was very small proportioned considering

I made dinner reservation at the J Bookwalter a week before our trip to Richland. Some of the staff is extremely kind whereas as some of them not so kind like the lady that showed us to our table. I requested an outdoor table while making the reservation. Our server was super friendly and attentive. We were able to find good number of vegetarian options on the menu which we appreciated. So, we ordered the baguette and teriyaki cauliflower for apps. Baguette was freshly baked and was very soft. We had a funny story with teriyaki cauliflower though,so, as soon as the dish came to our table. All the

Great staff. Super busy. Make reservations. Outdoor seating can get warm on hot summer nights, they also have indoor with air conditioning. Loved the shrimp appetizer and passion cocktail. Large steak was well prepared and shared. Salads are fresh and very nicely prepared. My guests loved the wine selection. It is on the top of our list for special occasions and entertaining.

We came in for lunch with our dog and had an excellent dinning experience. We sat on the patio under umbrella and it wasn't too hot! The burrata cheese appetizer was outstanding! Looking forward to coming back and having this again!

I highly recommend The steelhead salad it was great. My husband had the tacos and they were OK. They were like a beef for heaters special the tortilla was really dry, I personally didn't care for them.

We had a bottle of their Rose, which we thoroughly enjoyed and paired great with cheese app and salad. We did wine tasting as well, which was fun.

My DH & I enjoyed dinner here over the weekend. We were able to sit outside on the patio, which has lovely string lights and cool outdoor heating lamps (although they didn't turn ours on and it was chilly, but not intolerable). We tried the bacon wrapped dates appetizer first, which sounded like it might be too sweet when paired with a cabernet jelly but it wasn't! I was very happy. The rosemary and salty marcona almonds helped cut through the sweet dates, and their house made jelly had a nice balance. Even the bacon was crispy!

For entrees, I really couldn't decide between

To start, this is not a place where I would bring my kids. It's fine dining and I didn't see a kids menu. I preface with that because that's one of the first things I look for when eating out. There is pizza on the menu but I wouldn't take my kids here until they are both at least 10. Don't be that person!

Husband took me here for a quick date and we were definitely impressed. We didn't have reservations but hostess was able to seat us despite this. I highly recommend reservations. They do have indoor and outdoor seating. Outdoor seating looks comfy with plenty of

Beautiful restaurant and winery. The food here is exceptional and the wine is delightful. Great place for the summer as well because they have outdoor seating.

Service was a little on the slow side for food but not too bad. They did charge for a side of aioli which I thought was really odd for an upscale winery.

Their lunch menu has many great sandwiches to choose from. I would highly recommend the fried chicken sandwich!

I hope to come back here! Though I am giving 4 stars for charging me for aioli and the atmosphere in the restaurant could be a little more lively especially in the winter

Best outdoor patio in TriCities...until the summer hits. Then it's arguably whoever has the misters in the 100% heat

Great HH ~ 25% off pizza & select appetizers.
Wine ~ better than average, a little pricey. Flights are generous pours.

Service ~ hit & miss. Most recent visit EXCELLENT with Logan.

This is my second time here at J Bookwalter Winery. My friends highly recommended coming here, and I figured since I was in the area for business, why not?! My main draw here (besides the wine) was that my friends bragged about the donuts. Well... they only serve those during the weekends (womp! womp!). I was visiting Kennewick on the weekdays. :(

During my first visit in September 2018 I sat at the bar and just missed happy hour. I enjoyed the wine and it's cool they named all the wines relating to books (so far my favorite so far is 2014 Suspense, a Merlot and Cab Franc blend). Just
