Laura Phan, M.D. is an oculofacial plastic surgeon who specializes in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the eyelid, orbit and face. Dr. Phan has completed an American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery fellowship at the Wilmer Eye Institute at Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Phan grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area. She attended medical school and trained in ophthalmology at the Medical College of Virginia. Her love for surgery and appreciation of facial aesthetics led her to seek advance training in oculofacial plastic and reconstructive surgery with the world-renowned oculofacial plastic surgeon, Dr. Thomas Spoor.
Lisa is our administrative/billing specialist and has completed her billing and medical coding certification since 2012. Lisa loves working here, especially using her expertise to help patients navigate through the nuances of insurance plans. Lisa considers every claim denial she overturns is a victory for our patients.
At the same time as upper and lower blepharoplasty, other procedures may be performed. Of the upper eyelids, ptosis repair may be necessary to increase eye opening (the distance between upper and lower eyelash line), as blepharoplasty alone does not change eyelid function and thus how widely an eye can open.
Use of exfoliant and retinoid can cause dry, flaky skin. A good moisturizing regimen includes topical hyaluronic acid and vitamin B5 serum. Hyaluronic acid is hydrophilic or water-liking. It absorbs water 1000 times it own weight and, therefore, holds onto moisture on the skin. Vitamin B5 also helps hold water onto the skin.
Chalazion is a painless nodule of the eyelid near the eyelashes. It is caused by inflammation of specialized oil glands of the eyelid that reside behind the eyelashes. This inflammation is thought to be due to thick oil clogging up the oil glands. Chalazion is commonly associated with blepharitis, meibomian gland dysfunction and acne rosacea, but it can also occur without these associated conditions.

Calling customer service is a joke would be a complement to this place. This business fails to meet the customer expectations in terms of service quality, response time, or overall customer experience. We used with the waiting time 10-15' late here, but this time the appt. was at 10:30am and dr. show up till 11:25am. They don't value your time and no apology .

Wonderful staff! Professional, friendly, helpful, patient and understanding. Due to chronic health issues I usually have multiple medical appointments each month, sometimes two to three in a week, and this is the only office where the staff has sanitized my ID and insurance cards when returning them to me. I could not be happier, more satisfied or more impressed with the service and care I've received from Dr. Phan and the entire staff. Whether for medical or cosmetic procedures I highly recommend this practice!

But it's ridiculous to go back and forth with you and to be told by you and your staff that you do not believe me when I told you that I returned the confirmation call on Friday because it wasn't "documented" in your system. Dr Phan and her staff were very patient and explained my surgery in terms I could understand. I had questions after the procedure and again they were patient and explained everything. Dr. Phan wrote all my instructions for after care down so I didn't have to just remember her instructions. She takes time with you and never makes you think your questions are silly. I was pleased with my results of the surgery. I would definitely recommend her.

Staff very friendly and efficient as was Doctor Pham. Thorough and made plenty of sense analyzing my eye and skin issue. I will be checking back with her in two weeks! Frankly, if her diagnosis is correct how come the last five doctors I saw didn't know what she concluded! I almost want to ask them this!!

I had a type of infection in my right eye canal, and had to get a canaliculoplasty (i think that's what it's called, sorry!) done as soon as possible. I had never had any type of surgical operation done and was terrified.
Dr. Phan was calm, gentle, and helpful with all of my nerves and qualms regarding the procedure. I had my surgery done yesterday, and I literally cannot even tell my eye was operated on! I can already tell Dr. Phan did a phenomenal job stitching up the incision, and I am so grateful that I was referred to her by my ophthalmologist a few weeks back.

Dr. Phan is great. She is extremely professional and to the point. She is on time too! I felt very confident with her abilities to remove a clogged oil gland on my upper eyelid. She did a great job and was very thorough on explaining after surgery eye treatment and no scar:) I trust her and highly recommend her! I went in to get ptosis surgery done on my right eye this summer by Dr. Phan. It was pretty straight forward, even in the time of covid. I had a consultation via video, a pre-op appointment where we determined ptosis would be a good option and went over details, the surgery, and two post op appointments. All of this was scheduled quickly which was great. Her staff was helpful and kind. I had the procedure done in office with local anesthetic. I may have a low pain tolerance, but the surgery is pretty uncomfortable, but it only lasts about 15 minutes (maybe) per eye. I was afraid of the pain and

I love Dr Phan. I had to have eyelid surgery which was not considered cosmetic. She was so good a explaining everything to me. I was so nervous to halve it done but she sHow me pics of others she had done. I went without anesthesia and just got numbed. It was all fine. I healed perfectly and barely any scar shows at all. Just a little pinkness which I am told will fade over time. I can see at night so much better! I am so happy. I would totally recommend Dr Phan. Her office staff is so nice. A great experience. Extremely professional doctor and staff! The office is very nice. Dr Phan made me feel very comfortable and eased my mind as she explained everything during her exams. She’s very knowledgeable and works very delicately. She clearly and easily explained the procedure to me as well as provided ice packs and lots of after care info. For someone who looks so young, she is impressive with her professionalism and knowledge! I definitely recommend her for any needed procedures and would be happy to visit her again in the future.

My experience with Dr. Phan was wonderful. I'd been suffering from a number of eye symptoms that were having a noticeable impact on the comfort and quality of my life and she took my concerns seriously, was very kind and informative and came up with a treatment plan that completely turned the symptoms around. I'd been living with the symptoms for so long, I am still in awe each day with how much better life is without them. I'm so happy to have found Dr. Phan who got to the bottom of the problem and whose bedside manner put me at ease.

Went in for a consultation a while back and would never consider doing any work here. Laura was very rude as if she didn't care when you're asking her a lot of questions. They had bad customer service here. She left the impression that I must be poor since the way I dress was in jeans and regular clothes. She made the conversation quick so it seems as though she is just ready to her next appointment. If this place doesn't care for you to begin with then why would I do anything here.

I had the pleasure to work with Dr. Laura Phan's office. I originally called on behalf of my mother, who needed the help of a general ophthalmologist due to her condition. Dr. Phan specializes in eyelid diagnosis, and I wish to make a special call out to the great service from her clinic. I did not get any procedures done with Dr Phan and I will not be getting any from her and wouldn't if she was the last plastic surgeon on Earth. She did a horrifying thing to me during my first and only consultation and I am still horrified 2 months later.
I went to see her because I have bags under my eyes. The first thing she did was use her fingers to pinch and pull the skin under my left eye and hold it straight out, to show me how the skin had lost laxity while she explained how her surgery would help take care of it. She pulled it so quickly and so without warning, I was honestly shocked

I was referred to Dr. Phan for ptosis surgery, but because I already have dry eye disease this procedure was not recommended for me. I will be having blepharoplasty surgery to correct both eyes.
This is my second visit and and I must say the doctor has been very thorough in explaining the procedure to me and my husband. I feel assured all will go well. She made sure she answered all of our questions and understood each detail.

Dr. Phan is wonderful! I had sagging brows which blocked 50% of my vision on one eye and 38% on the other. She did surgery to raise my brows, and I had no bruising, minimal swelling, and all of my friends tell me I look years younger. She is extremely good at what she does, and is also professional, and caring. In addition, the nurses at the Los Gatos Surgical Center told me she was one of the best surgeons they had seen and if they would not consider another surgeon to do work on their eyes. I highly recommend her!

Dr. Laura Phan is very knowledgeable.
My mother came in today to have a cyst looked at on her eye and Dr. Phan evaluated her with the utmost of care and sensitivity. In addition, she made it a point to go over every detail of my mother's medical history to help provide some insight on her current condition. I was very appreciative of Dr. Phan's thorough examination and her ability to provide my mother with options on her care, allowing her the ability to choose what is best for her needs and what will best suit her health goals.
