Back in October of 2020, I contacted Kelli for services for my upcoming wedding in Portland, OR in November of 2020. Due to Covid shutdowns, my wedding had to be cancelled and I had no control over the last minute cancellation. I had already placed a deposit of $226.66, the first of three payments, and the second payment. The contract I signed stated that client cancellation resulted in 33% of the total payment being non refunded. I had already made two payments at this time, so I only requested a refund for the second payment, as 33% would only be the first payment. I was fine with this. However

I decided to book Kelli Thomsen to do my hair and makeup for our wedding in early February 2020 because of her emphasis on skin care, clean beauty, and a natural bridal look. The trial run included with our package went really well; I was able to tell her exactly how I wanted my hair and makeup to look on the day-of. We experimented with different colors and finishes, and she took thorough notes during the entire process. The trial run was super important, because I could wear the updo and makeup all day to see if any hair pins were falling out or if I did not like the makeup in certain lighting

Kelli is such a gem! When I was looking to book a wedding makeup artist it was important that they were not only a makeup pro but also a skincare pro. Kelli is both of those, and on top of that she has such a warm and genuine spirit! I immediately felt as ease when I met her. I only know makeup basics and I never style my hair beyond a quick blow dry....so it was important that I still look like myself but elevated. During my trial run she executed my vision (which I struggled to put into words!) absolutely beautifully! All of my communication with her has been prompt, caring and professional.

Where do I even start on my experience working with Kelli? I was an elopement bride from the east coast and found Kelli through social media. Kelli and her team did my wedding party's hair and makeup for my wedding. In the beginning there was a mix up and we realized the week of my wedding that they were scheduled for the wrong day (omg panic mode, I know). We loved all the vendors we worked with on our wedding but Kelli and team were some of the most relentlessly positive and accommodating people we had the pleasure of working with. It has been one week since I had a peel done by Kelli. And my skin feels amazing!!! My skin was dry and congested. At day 4 my skin began exfoliating with a fine flakiness...today it so smooth and refreshed!! Kelli is a great makeup artist and also does great waxing. She uses all natural products so my face doesn't brake out or turn red from the makeup or waxing. I always like to use Kelli when I need new head shots or update my portfolio. I would highly recommend her.

Kelli did an amazing job and made my Brazilian waxing very comfortable. My first experience at a different place was bad but I didn't realize it was bad because it was my first time (like being told to pluck hair that's left when I get home because they forgot their glasses and they used a hard wax which I just learned today). You can tell the moment you meet Kelli that she knows what she's doing! Her skin is amazing and she looks ten years younger than she is, because she knows how to take care of skin. Kelli is also an amazing teacher, and I know this because she teaches airbrush for me at Art of Makeup. She is enthusiastic and energetic throughout every class. She is an expert at her craft. Every student has nothing to say but great things about Kelli. They love her! And I can see that she loves sharing her art. She's great with people AND makeup and skincare.

Not very happy. I paid for a lesson on how to use an airbrush system with my skin issues and she was unable to show me how to get a good somewhat flawless look like the girl gave me when I bought my airbrush system. So instead she used her foundation (not airbrush makeup) to put on my face and basically did all my makeup which I already know how to do and told me that I wouldn't want an airbrushed look everyday anyway. I was there for a lesson in airbrushing and not a makeover. The three stars are because she is a good makeup artist when using non airbrush makeup.
