Dorys and her team did my makeup and my bridesmaids' for my wedding. It was a wonderful experience: they came to our lodging, were very efficient and everyone looked beautiful. I wanted very natural looking makeup and she honored my wishes. I was also impressed with how well she handled different skin tones and complexions. Highly recommend!

I highly recommend Dorys and her team of stylists. Dorys did my makeup trial before my wedding and from that moment I knew that I had found the right person. Dorys and her team were punctual and helped to bring calmness to the typical wedding day stress. There was only one full length mirror available at the Kahala and three stylists- they just took it in stride and did an incredible job. My bridal party loved their hair and makeup! I am overjoyed to have worked with such a talented lady! I was happy at my trial run, but the makeup was not me, Dorys made me feel so comfortable to even nitpick the smallest details and on my wedding day I was just astonished at how beautiful I looked! All my bridesmaids and mother in law looked beautiful and they all agreed it's the best makeup they've ever had on their face. We also opted to do airbrush and it was a life saver in Hawaii. Our makeup stayed put the whole night through dancing, tears and sweat! I have beautiful photos that captured her talent and would highly recommend

i'm a long distance bride so it was hard to really hash things out beforehand, but she made it work!
i did a trial run with her a few months before my wedding at her studio in kaimuki.... it was awesome! i asked her to do a tattoo coverup, which went really well, but after awhile i decided not to go with that.
anyways she made me look like a total natural diva - and the photos came out fabulous

I booked Maleana Cosmetics for my June wedding. It was an outdoor wedding at Lanikuhonua. My main concern was that I didn't want my makeup melting by the end of the day. Especially since their would be no air conditioning. I opted for the air brush makeup and boy was I glad I did. My makeup was flawless the entire day even after all the dancing we did. Dorys is AMAZING! I was in Oahu for my bachelorette and brought my wedding photographers there as well for bridal portraits. I contact Dorys very last minute after reading good reviews on yelp. She's so sweet and accommodating. I just cannot put enough good words about her service!!!

I cannot express my Appreciation for Dory and her skill set! I was married one week ago and she made me feel so welcomed and comfortable! The location is all white, calming and fresh! If you are looking for the best of the best when it comes to makeup and hairstyling - especially when it comes to your wedding day - go with Dorys and her team at Maleana. I searched the internet like crazy for a stylist when I was getting married in Hawaii; living in CA, I knew I would have to search from a far, and was skeptical at first, especially since my choices seemed so limited. I live in NYC and knew nothing about hair and makeup stylists in Hawaii, so I booked Dorys and her team on a recommendation from our wedding coordinators at Aloha Wedding Planners. Maleana honestly wasn't my first choice but I planned my wedding in about a month and a half and Dorys was free.
I got hair and makeup done. Airbrushing was highly worth it. Stayed on perfectly and my skin looked flawless. I wasn't uber impressed by my eyelashes. I actually brought my own with me (which I was charged extra for...understandable since they had their own there but theirs weren't very good). When I got a chance to look at them when we were done with our one and a half worth of wedding & photosession, one eyelash was so loose it was coming off in the inner corner

I read the mixed reviews about Dorys and was initially not going to chance it on on my wedding day. After my first choice wasn't available and the trial with the second didn't go well, I decided to do a trial with Dorys. I'm so happy I gave her a chance.

I was in a wedding in Kapolei and the bride hired a team of stylists from Maleana. Dorys did most of the BM's hair and the bride. She asked me what I was thinking of doing with my hair and without much direction, she did exactly what I asked for. Above that, she even did it expeditiously. I received a lot of compliments on my hairstyle at the wedding.

I had my trial hair and makeup done for my wedding with Dorys. The hair was spot on, just like the photo I brought! BUT the makeup was pretty bad. I'm not too picky with make up. I don't like looking like a drag queen, but i also do like looking like i have some makeup on. My eyes looked so boring, nothing special. I could have done what she did.
Some reviews say she's wonderful, some say she's not. I just recommend you not be cheap and pay for a trial hair/make up run. I went with another stylist Jessica Hoffman. She was fabulous!

4 stars for my fabulous wedding artist Jennifer; but minus 1/2 a star (so I really wanna give them a 3.5) for the fact that I had to color in my brows myself, because of how much it cost to just have my MOH and myself done (there's a minimum charge AND an off-site charge-- sigh), and because (as another Yelper's already mentioned: the lip gloss was way light-- I wish I'd read that review beforehand, and at least applied some liner before applying the gloss).

I used Dorys several years ago for my wedding. I did a trial first and had some reservations about a few things so I emailed them to her. To my surprise, she had printed out the email and brought it with her on the day of my wedding. She recapped the things I wanted changed and did it perferctly on the day of the wedding! I was very happy with how it all turned out! My hair and makeup lasted through the entire day and night!

Everything Valerie L. and Lisa I. have written about Dorys is exactly how I feel about her too. She was among three make up artists that were recommended to me when I was searching for someone to do hair and make up for my wedding. What appealed to me and my matron of honor (who was also scouting out vendors for me!) was that Dorys made her subjects look pretty yet natural. Plus, I was intrigued with the whole "airbrush" deal. I had no idea you could airbrush people in addition to pictures!
