Our family marine business was established in 1969 by Ralph and Barbara Plowman. The business is now run by their sons Kirk and Kent. In addition we have a fine support staff of twelve employees. We serve the greater Minocqua area including Manitowish Waters, Eagle River, Three Lakes and Rhinelander.

The longitudinal construction maintains the alignment of the boat and allows us to meet tolerances within 1000ths of an inch.
Our award winning, factory trained staff services the following brands: Mercury, Mercruiser, Indmar and PCM engines. Plowman's is one of the few Mercury dealers in the country to win the Mercury CSI award for the last 10 straight years. Brought in a starter for our boat. They tested it, said it was bad. Sold us a new starter for $270 (same one available online for $70). We bought it because we had to, installed it only to find out our original starter was fine and and it was another part that was wrong. When we called they said they wouldn’t let us return it. Bottom line these people are crooks and if I could leave a 0 star review I would. Buyer beware.

I have 2018 Bennington which requires warranty work. I puchased the boat new from another dealer, but since moved to the Minocqua area. Plowmans refuses to complete work as I did not purchase boat from them. A call to Bennington corporate with regional rep reaffirms. Bennington states they cannot force a dealer to complete warranty work. Will be my last Bennington and certainly will not deal with Plowmans in the future.

I want to say that I had the most wonderful experience in dealing with Plowman's Marine. Even in these strange Social Distancing times they were able to answer every question that I had and make me feel like a extremely valued customer. My sales person Jesse was great to work with and was very patient in working with me. Kirk the owner was able to accommodate my overly busy schedule and even bumped me up on delivery. They speck the boats great and really know there stuff here. People tend to leave only reviews when they get a little bent over stuff. I'm going to be bold and say I leave an honest

Great experience dealing with Kent when purchasing a boat from Plowman's Marine I live several states away and Kent was always accessible by phone or email while going through the out of state purchase. I arrived at the Marina on a Saturday morning after an 11 hour overnight trip and Kent was at the door to greet me as I walked in.. He went over everything on the boat to be certain it worked as advertised. I highly recommend Plowmans Marine when looking to buy a boat .. It was well worth the 700 + mile trip to get a great boat at a much more reasonable price than what was selling around my area

Not customer friendly in parts department. Got a fuel filter but didn't let us know about the special wrench to take it the filter off. Then he made it sound like it was our fault. Round trip to them was 135 miles had to do this 2 days in a row. I would say the only reason you are in business is because you are the only one available.

I realize boats are holes in the water into which you pour money. That said, it is never fun to deal with a sarcastic service department person. When your choices are buying online for half the price and not being patronized by rude clerk, I would suggest shopping online. $105 at Plowmans:$39 On line.

We just took delivery on a used pontoon from Plowman's and the entire experience went very smoothly. Kent was very helpful and we sensed honesty and sincerity in his sales advice. Jim acquainted us with our new boat and patiently answered all of my many questions as a first time boat owner. Dale helped us get it to, and into our lake and was amazing with his enthusiasm and knowledge. I subtracted one star because the boat was not detailed as promised but we did catch them on an extremely busy weekend (Memorial Day). Probably the worst dealer I have ever dealt with. The owner Kent is totally unprofessional and does not honor his word. It appears there may be anger issues at play here as well. I have purchased many boats and have used the services of marinas and dealers through the country and this is absolutely the worst. I witnessed Kent purchase a boat from my son promising payment later in the week. After a year of avoidance, not only did he renege, he charged for unauthorized service. There are many buying choices in the Northwoods, look elsewhere.

I have dealt with a lot of boat dealerships over the past thirty years and I fish almost daily so my equipment takes a pretty good beating by myself and our clients. I have had Plowman's do a lot of work for me over the last few years and I love working with them. I have had less expensive places and I have been to places that charge more but I have not had anyone that delivered this great of value for the price charged. I am grateful they charge enough to stay open, pay their employees well and have a profit to remain and offer great service. Great job Plowman's and you have my business, my friends

While I have not purchased a boat from Plowmans I have used their service department. They sell both Hurricane boats and Honda outboards and so are a one stop shop for my boating needs. The service department personal are all very knowledgeable and have an answer to just about any question I throw at them. I came in looking for oil, a trailer brake lockout key, and a new mount for the rear navigation light and they had them all.
