Window regulators are an extremely interesting part of a car that never receives any love or attention. From the day that the vehicle rolls off the assembly line, automotive door window regulators work endlessly moving the door glass up and down, giving the occupants of the vehicle the much beloved fresh air.
The power window motor is also referred to as a window lift motor. The motor has a shaft that rotates and is attached to a mechanical assembly, the regulator. The rotation of the shaft drives the mechanical action of the the regulator, which moves your window up and down. Window motors are located within car doors and working with the window regulator, raise and lower the windows of the vehicle.
A manual window regulator is the most basic of window lifting mechanisms. It always has some type of handle sticking through the door panel that regulates the up and down motion of the glass window.
