Services
Each of the 74 private cottages at our Vermont lakeside resort has a personality of its own. No two cottages are alike. You will find a summer home feeling on Lake Champlain filled with simplicity and ease for your family vacation. A great way to streamline your family's stay and get the best value while enjoying our incredible dining offerings is to opt for a meal plan ranging from just breakfast to all three meals daily.
As the original farmhouse of Basin Harbor, the Lodge houses the dining room, front desk, concierge services and gift shop. This circa 1920s building offers six identical rooms for guests who prefer more hotel-like accommodations. The spacious guestrooms feature double beds, private baths, and partial views of Lake Champlain through the trees.
For some, a family vacation would not be the same without your four-legged friend. Basin Harbor has always been pet friendly, welcoming your pets to vacation with you. Our lakeside resort has acres to explore and dogs even have their own swimming area, Fanny's Beach. Pet amenities include biscuits made in Vermont and pick up mitts.
From the time that Basin Harbor opened in 1886, food has been the central part of every guest's experience. Although the beginning was humble, fresh and local food has always been the highlight of daily life. The restaurants of Basin Harbor and their menus reflect time-honored favorites as well as bold contemporary flavors.
Basin Harbor offers lake resort activities and entertainment for every season and every interest. We have guests who are content to just relax, with Lake Champlain as their backdrop. They love to lounge in one of the colorful Adirondack chairs while reading in the beautiful gardens, while others want to take part in the many classes and clinics offered.

Staying a few days at the Basin Harbor Resort, we decided to have dinner the first night at their signature restaurant, Ardelia's. It was named after one of the original owners, who apparently was passionate about her guests being well accommodated and happy, and it lives up to her standards. It is a button-down, collared shirt, slacks and no jeans restaurant, with many, if not most of the men wearing blazers. The wait staff was friendly, knowledgeable, prompt and courteous. The wine list was nice and moderately priced, and the menu was creative. The meals were perfect in terms of food combinations

Connected to the historic Basin Harbor Inn, the restaurant is finer dining than many of the local options we found.
Fine table cloths and linens adorn the tables and real silver utensils are at the ready as you enter the beautiful dining room.
The hostess was formal and extremely polite and led us to a table by the window's with a view of the basin that is to die for.
I love the fact there is a dress code on the weekends, gentlemen should wear coats / suit coat, i wish more places did this, however during the week the dress is resort business casual.
Our server was very knowledgeable in regards
